Guest dragontearz
It's been a month-the only ones to acknowledge it were my mom and dad, my siblings, some people from the rescue group, people on Greytalk, the vet that helped you pass to the next life, and the neighbors-the friends I've had for the past 20 years didn't even bother to call, even though they knew you were my equivalent of a child. I haven't bothered to talk to them since. We were both there for every marriage, birth of a child, houses our friends had bought, camping trip,etc....but when you died, not a peep from any of them. I will concentrate on teaching Oberon how to live a good life like you did, and to help those less fortunate and to donate our time and money when we can. I'm done spending time helping people that could not bother to check on you and me because it was too much of a hassle, even though we did it for them for years on end, because that is what friends are supposed to do. We understand all to much what you are saying. We have been down that road before. May you find peace and know that Guinness is looking down smiling that you have honoured his memory by adopting Oberon. Stay strong and continue to honour Guinness by taking the high road if you can. What truly matters is what is between you and Guinness, nobody can change that. Houndtime
Your feelings are hurt. You want your friends to acknowledge the loss. Perhaps they just don't have the right words. I am trying to be the devil's advocate here. Sometimes people think the best thing to do is say nothing, rather than upset you. Your friends, here, all know what you are experiencing. We will always be here for you, anytime. Guest dragontearz
I spread some more of your ashes at our friend Kelly's house in Indiana last weekend Guinness-her and her kids watched you for me and Alaina last summer when we went to Chicago for a few days, and you convinced them to adopt an elderly dog from the local shelter. We arrived last Friday, and during the bonfire that night I spread your ashes, and everyone smiled without saying a word-they knew what you did and still do mean to me. Has it been five months already? It seems like it's been a few days at most. Always in my heart, puppy. My blog about grief The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not get over the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it.
