Update On Willie Post Amputation

I thought I would share some good news. Willie has finished his chemo and has grown all of his hair back. He is doing just great. He is like a new man. Willie has always been my shy boy, who showed little emotion and rarely joined the family without being coaxed. Now he is outgoing, bossy and such fun. He plays more than ever, begs for treats and wakes me during the night just for some attention. Here is my boy showing his playful side. postamp4001.jpg

And now resting

Thank you all for sharing in this journey with me. :bighug

I'm so glad you're keeping us all posted on Willie. He looks great and it is just so good to hear he's a "different man"

Please give him a very big hug and kiss from us

Here's to hoping you have many more happy days with him!

George too was a different man and FINALLY showed us his true goofy personality in the few months between his amp and when he went over the bridge. I cherish all those days with him, and am happy that we did know the true George!

Spoil him rotten!

Mango is the same way, post-amp and healing: positively joyful. Running and bouncing and pulling to GO as if nothing was different. I took her out to a couple M&Gs this month, although I wasn't sure it was good to be showing a dog who'd had a serious illness. Talked to the folks in my group today and they said, Why not - people need to see they can function on 3 legs just as easily. So as long as she's able, we'll continue to do M&Gs, which she always loved anyway.

Great to see that Willie is doing so well!

I think it's really important to show people our tripawds. I know that after meeting Darcy and seeing how she gets along, a number of people who were dead set against amputation for any reason have had their minds changed or are now at least in a position where they would seriously consider it if they had to (if the dog was a good candidate).

Deerhounds Darcy, Duffy, Grace & Wellington, Mutts Sprout & Buddy, Lurchers Ned & Jake plus Ella the Westie + cats. Remembering Del, Jessie, Maddison, Flo, Sally, Stanley, Wallace, Radar, Mokka, Oki cat, Tetley, Poppy & Striker.

Don't you just love it when they come out of their shell? He looks absolutely fantastic! Gorgeous! It's a testament to your care and love that he trusts you enough to show his true nature. Go, Willie, go!

We too took George on a M&G!! He loved the attention and we just didnt stay as long as we used to. Lots of people got informed on recovery from amp and even though it wasnt a cure, he was pain free for awhile longer and we got more happy days to share with him.

I am not really affiliated with any group, but would love to take Willie on an outing. On his walks he gets so much attention and just soaks it up. I am so glad to hear that Mago is doing well. Please post some pictures.
