Kylie is due for her first dental cleaning. She has always had really clean, snowy white teeth until recently. I had the vet give me an estimate and they came up with between $450.00 to almost $600.00, depending on if she needs an extraction. I almost fell over. I want to have her teeth cleaned but that seems really high to me. What have you paid?

Believe me, what you're being quoted would be a blessing here. I just had Misty's done 3 weeks ago. 4 extractions and it was 1100.00. I was actually expecting it to be higher, but Feb is dental month so there's a discount

Missing my little Misty who took a huge piece of my heart with her on 5/2/09, and Ekko, on 6/28/12

I'd also ask your adoption group who they use... you might be able to get a better rate somewhere else (but with someone you trust).

I think that depending on the place, you can pay that much here too, but I've also seen some prices quoted at $250. My vet charges around $400-$500 I think.

I just paid $109 with no extractions and antibiotics; was a deal thru our group though. At the vet outside our neighborhood, I was quoted 285 with bloodwork, no extractions.

You need to shop around. Some vets are RIP-OFFS.

With bloodwork that sounds about right (never needed extractions.)

Beth, Petey (8 September 2018- ), and Faith (22 March 2019). Godspeed Patrick (28 April 1999 - 5 August 2012), Murphy (23 June 2004 - 27 July 2013), Leo (1 May 2009 - 27 January 2020), and Henry (10 August 2010 - 7 August 2020), you were loved more than you can know.

2/08: ---about $172 for Ruby, with extraction (no charge). That price INCLUDED the pre-op bloodwork.

5/08: --a bit under $200 for Rascal, and she had one extraction (no charge for that). Again, includes bloodwork.

--$120 for Buddy. He had the bloodwork previously, so that's not included in this price. Our base price for a dental is $120.

Of course these prices don't account for any medication (for pain, etc.), just the dental with or without bloodwork.

Always missing Buddy, Ruby, and Rascal.

Not that I need one, but was that through our group? or Tender Touch?

That sounds about right for here, too. Bud's in Dec 08 was $420ish, and Twister's last month was $620ish. They included pre procedure bloodwork, pain stuff sent home, and Twiz had antibiotics, too. Neither had any extractions, but Twiz had kind of an oral surgery on the gum above one tooth which is why hers was more. Hers included dental x-rays, too, but Bud's didn't. I thought it was a little high, but I really trust my vet, and that's worth more than money to me. And I was really impressed with the way they dealt with Twiz's gum issue, some vets I'm sure would just have pulled the tooth rather than taking the time to fix it.

Clark's was under $400. I'm at work so don't have the exact amount. His included full blood panel, 7 extractions (one was a canine), sent home with 2 kinds of pain killers and antibiotics. He also got a booster he was due for and heartworm test.

Elton has not needed a dental but when Shane had one a couple of years ago I paid around 140.00 in February with the discount. My mom's vet who she thinks is better because his office is fancier charged her 500.00. Neither needed extractions. Basically the same procedure. Both vets in the same city.

My former vet in NH would not do an extraction on Navigator, so he referred me to a 'dental specialist' in MA. A cleaning and 2 extractions later................$1700!!! BW had been done at my vet's office. What a royal rip-off!!

Our new vet does full mouth xrays, which really bumps up the price. Used to pay around 400-500, now 700-800. Prices include some extractions and bloodwork.
