Guest diggerspeed Posted September 4, 2008 Share Posted September 4, 2008 its been a tough two weeks in our family for pets with moms grey crossing the bridge last week. on tuesday evening sept 2 my sisters chessapeke bay retriver started spitting up blood, a trip to the e-vet wasnt able to find a cause, when they woke up yesterday morning sept 3rd, he wasnt geting any better and appeared to be getting worse. they took him back to the vet, and did a lot more tests and xrays to try find it but were still struggling to find anything and decided to keep him over night to try and find a cause and help him. later in the afternoon they recieved a call from the vet to come right away that he was getting worse. sadly bennigen crossed over the bridge just before they got there. they had discovered he had a tumor in his lungs. it was all very sudden as there had been no sign of anything up until tuesday evening. this has been very hard on my sister and her husband, as well as all of us. bennigen was a big teddy bear, he loved to play and chase tennins balls, and really loved it when you just sitting there rubbing his huge head or belly. i was just up there at there house in up state new york a month or so ago, and he and i played till we both were worn out. he would try his best to chase down bunny rabbits but just wasnt fast enough to get there, but you could see the thrill and fun in his eyes as he tryed. it just doesnt seem real that he could be gone that fast out of no where. it breaks my heart and there's as well. even though he wasnt a grey he touched my heart the same as all of them do. as well as anybody he met. run free at the bridge big boy you are amoung friends up there. you will be missed by all of us here.
