I Need A Hug

Recommended Posts

I got to see Vixen and Marbles Saturday before last, and I noticed that Vix had what looked and felt to me like very swollen lymph nodes. You could literally SEE them sticking out. They felt about as big as apricots. XDH made an appointment for her, and our vet and another vet in the practice couldn't tell if they were her lymph nodes or enlarged salivary glands. They aspirated them and sent off the fluid for analysis. Well guess what. The results are "inconclusive." Our vet said if it was cancer, it would have been obvious, so he's leaning toward enlarged salivary glands. But she has another appointment for another aspiration, this time with a bigger needle, on Thursday.

It sucks not knowing what's going on. I guess I wouldn't be SO worried if she hadn't also been losing weight. XDH says she's not eating very well.

Hugs please, and good thoughts for my Poodle girl.

Laurie

No other lymph nodes were swollen on her body? If it was just under her jaw (I believe) that is a good thing.

I'm sorry to hear this. But I agree - if it's just there, and the results are inconclusive, it could just be salivary glands. And if those are inflamed, of course eating could be painful. Poor girl.. Did they put her on antibiotics or pred in the meantime?

And, btw, congrats on Rose - she's beautiful!

Sending my many prayers. I know when Angel LaceyLaine's mandibular lymph nodes were aspirated~Dr. Beth said it is very common that the cytology/path results come back as inconclusive and at that point an open biopsy would be needed. Sadly her aspirates came back as Lymphoma. Know my heart and prayers are with you and I am chanting this is "nothing" :grouphug
