Guest DanTheMan
First of all, Dan is my heart hound, and the love of my life. He passed away in Nov 2004 to OS when he was just 9. He was also my first dog to die from a disease and not old age. I think that was the most difficult part because it just seemed outside the order of how things were "supposed" to work. I had an elderly lab mix at the time that I just assumed would pass away first and I was emotionally prepared for that, not for Dan. Needless to say, I did not handle it well. To this day I get emotional when thinking or talking about him. I did have a few dreams about Dan not too long after he died, but nothing for a long time. However, just the other night I had a dream about him. We were mainly just walking through some fields near my house. I did find a tiny lump on his neck and commented that now I have something to worry about. I gave him lots of kisses and love but I wasn't sad like in the earlier dreams. He was beautiful again like he was before he got sick. I still miss him terribly.
