Guest itdoesnotmatter Posted February 27, 2008 Share Posted February 27, 2008 hi all. this will probably be my last post for a while (at least until another greyhound comes into our lives). i just wanted to say again thank you so much for your support during this incredibly difficult time in my life. i directed my husband to the forum so he could read all of your thoughts and prayers and he really appreciated it too. last night was hard. the first few days were sort of a relief, because mattie had been so sick and struggling so much for a long time. but now that my house is cleaned up and things have returned to normal, i find myself missing my girl a lot. i miss her warm little body curled up next to me at night (even though mattie wouldn't hurt a fly, it was so comforting having her there if i got scared. i FELT protected, even if i really wasn't). i miss the way she hopped around before a walk, and the squeak she made every time she yawned. i miss those big brown eyes following me around the room (they were so expressive!) and i miss the way she smelled (mattie never smelled bad, not once in the five years we had her). i still can't believe she's really gone... i wish you all happy and healthy times with your hounds! they deserve all the love in the world, don't they? all my best, mara Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
