Guest judechet Posted February 13, 2008 Share Posted February 13, 2008 My sweet Kevin crossed the Bridge today. This makes six in the past 15 months and it never gets any easier. Kevin was 82 lbs and he needed his size to house his enormous heart. He was so gentle, so kind to the others, just a big oaf (in the nicest sense) at times. He will now be with Megan, his soul mate for seven years. I will miss his standing behind me as I prepare both meals each day hoping beyond hope that a piece of kibble would fall to the floor as I mixed the stew into the kibble. I will miss his lying next to me at night. He always shared my bed with me. I recently put my mattress on the floor so he could get up on it and it will stay on the floor. I will miss his smile, his gentle licking of my hand, his reaching out with his paw as I petted him, his tremendous love of biscuits, and so much more. I was blessed to have him as a part, a big part, of my life. I have so many wonderful memories of a beautiful, loving companion. Godspeed, my prince. There is a song that I sang to him everyday which I made up years ago. It goes better with music but the words are: "Kevin from heaven, I love you! Kevin from heaven, you know I do! Kevin from heaven, I love you! Kevin from heaven, I always will! His memorial stone will read: KEVIN My Gift From Heaven Recalled Feb. 12, 2008 I will always love you, Kevin!
