Meet Leah (Its Lovebug Leah-10/04) who we brought home tonight from a mass adoption at OSU! Almost 20 greys went home tonight!!

Spike had just eaten a Jumbone on his pillow, then graciously allowed Leah to use his pillow because he wanted the couch instead! Pardon the crumbs! (And my dirty wall...)

I met her Thursday. I had originally gone there to the OSU vet school to meet the greys on Tues, and then went back Thursday with Spike so he could meet them. This precious, sweet, personable, funny, wiggly, happy girl caught my eye immediately. I hadn't gone there specifically intending to adopt at all. I mean, I have KINDA been wanting another grey, but not totally convinced that I should. Well, of course, all that doubt just flew out the window. I just love this sweet girl with cleopatra eyes! She has an old fracture in her right rear leg (Luxated hock?? Am I describing that correctly?) which prevents her from straightening it completely, but Dr. Couto himself reassured me it was causing her no pain, and believe me, she ran around out in the yard tonight with her new playmates as if there is nothing wrong with her leg at all! She gimps around when she first stands up, but has absolutely NO problem running or walking and has ALREADY learned the treacherous open back deck stairs! Yay Leah!

She is so beautiful and friendly, and truly lives up to her racing name: Lovebug Leah, she is wonderful!!

BTW, in the second picture, if you look at the top of her head there is a tiny little fawn 'kissy dot'! AND... there is a doggy-biscuit-shaped pink area on her nose! Awwwwwww..... What a pretty face!!

She's beautiful! I noticed her little tiny kissy spot - you'll have to make that bigger. :kiss2 What fun markings!

Thanks to everybody for the lovely compliments! I'll be sure to pass them on to Miss Leah, since she is probably a wee bit stressed out from all the goings on!!!

What a little beauty!!!! Congratulations!!!!!

(Did anyone warn you about the white girls??? Trust me, you are in for it!!!) :offwall:lol:wub:

No, WHAT??? Tell me about the white girls!! Leah has a sister, Libby, who was also adopted yesterday, she was pure white with ticking, and super-gorgeous herself! If I had a bigger house and more $$, I would love to have kept them together...

She's gorgeous!

I know a few of the vet students that got to spay that group of hounds last Thursday. :thumbs-up

All the vet students I met, the times I visited were WONDERFUL and you could tell they love what they do. Thumbs-up and Kudos to them!

OMG!! Christina!!!! Congratulations!!!!! I can't wait to meet her!!!!!!

Oh, and you shall... Saturday!!! Hopefully she'll feel like M&G-ing after getting stitches removed!

  • 1 month later...

Hi and what a small world - We wanted to take in another grey from the OSU 24 and after looking at the GAO website, my daughter had her heart set on Leah, mentally adopted her and made a bed for Leah next to hers. When we went to OSU on Friday, Juliann raced to Leah's cage up front, but she had an "adopted" tag on her cage. I had to explain to her that Leah had another "forever home". She cried but went to the back kennel with Dr. Cristina who knew Juliann was upset and showed her a big guy noone wanted - he was so boney and depressed (from his anethestic from getting neutered that day), but it was an immediate bond when the tech had Juliann take Less Reason out for a walk. I was holding out for Leah if the potential adoptee didn't show up. Then Jules and Less Reason came back in from their walk and it was a totally done deal. It was right after that I realized that Less Reason was the dog Ihad read about on the GAO website and researched - the son of Less Gravity (aka Callie) that is so revered by the folks at GAO and there was no question we were his, We were adopted by Less Reason, his forever name is "Callie's Less Reason" , he is doing fine here with his 2 (new) grey siblings.

Please give Leah a hug and I am so gald to know where she is. How is her leg? Fate is funny isn't it? We should form a club of the OSU 24. It's a very special group.
