Guest Greensleeves
It's been almost five months since we lost him, and I can't believe it. It still feels like yesterday. I had a funny dream about him about a week or two after--he came back (yes, as in "back from the dead") to visit for Christmas. But this one was really powerful, and maybe something I needed, too. We lost him to cancer, and we didn't know he was sick until 36 hours before he died, when a tumor ruptured and sent him in to shock. In my dream, though--we did get a chance to know, and I got to spend time cuddling with him on a bed in the closet and saying good-bye. It was... kind of wonderful. My dreams aren't typically very tactile, but in this one, I could really feel how soft his fur was (especially the thick ruff around his neck). I haven't cried this much since June, and it feels good. Here's my cuddle buddy: (in case you've lost count, that's five beds... and a pillow.) Guest fountainpengwen
What a nice dream - a chance to say goodbye. A few months after my heartdog, Luna, passed away, I had a dream we were having all sorts of wonderful adventures together. It was bittersweet, but still good to "see" her again. ETA: Come to think of it, I had a dream just a couple nights ago about my horse who passed away a few years ago. The dream was like yours - Chester was suddenly sick and we sent him to the bridge within a week of finding out, but in the dream he came back to say goodbye again. Sirocco_Nikki
Definitely a sign. There were times when I could swear that I caught a fleeting glimpse of Chester curled up in his favorite spot WHILE I was wide awake. I thought I was nuts until I found GT. Guest bowiebears
I have had similar sorts of dreams and/or feelings after our two bridge babies left us. And each time, when the new hound arrived, there was another sense that the bridge hound was channeling approval. Yes, I think your Whistler is telling you he's safe and happy, and sending you his love. One day we will all be reunited at The Bridge. --Isaac

DianeFG
Fudgie came back to me in two dreams since I lost him. One was not pleasant and the other was wonderful. In the second dream I was aware he had died and he showed up on my porch and looked so amazingly healthy and perfect. I let him in and I hugged and hugged and kissed him to bits. It was so real and so happy. I am grateful I had that dream and I am grateful you had your dream about Whistler It gives you something to hold on to.
