Guest darlene
Groove, I am so sorry we got to you too late. Searching for you these past months has been a learning experience for us. I'm sure we did a lot of things wrong, but we wanted so bad to bring you in, and give you another chance. I feel like a lot of people let you down, but we were trying so hard to fix that.I know that thoughts of you out there alone, cold, afraid, kept me and all of the others searchers awake at night. It drove us to work harder, but it's like you always stayed one step ahead of us. We felt so many times that you were watching us, but could not trust enough anymore to come close. We had such plans for you after bringing you in. We were going to have a "Groove" party, with you, big guy as the guest of honor.Everytime we heard the coyotes howling at night, it made us push harder to get more fliers and posters out, and talk to more people, and drive a little farther. We'll probably never know what caused your death, but please know you were not alone, because you have constantly been in our thoughts these past 4 months. I pray you didn't suffer, and I pray you're happy now at the bridge. Please forgive us for not being able to save you! One promise I'm making to you Groove, because of you, if (heaven forbid) another grey goes missing in the Dayton area, we're ready now to enlist people and resources to bring that dog home! By trial and error, because of you, we'll be better at it next time. Run free sweetheart!

Guest PNWtrillium
Please, Darlene, be gentle with yourself. We're all human. Each of you did the best you could do at each moment. We can't know what we haven't yet learned and it's okay to be unsure. You each stepped forward and gave so very much for Groove. It's natural to second guess yourself/yourselves (goodness knows we all do it!), but please let that go and give yourself credit for all you did. We learn together. Groove was part of that. It doesn't diminsh Groove to take the credit you deserve. To me it seems that a magnificent thing happened when you all came together to do what you could. I honor that, and am honored that I got a chance to observe it happening. Bountiful blessings to you all, including the spirit of Groove. Guest Machbragal
Groove was a magnificent dog, and he was loved by so many. So many were praying for his safe recovery. So many worked tirelessly to accomplish his safe return. We all were waiting for that day that we could celebrate. We all wanted to reassure him that the world was safe and he was okay. Unfortunately, all our best efforts could not bring that result about. Groove -- you've touched so many hearts here. I hope you are at peace and know how very, very much you are loved. And, if Vivi has crossed over, I hope she was there to greet you and run free with you. To all the volunteers who never gave up -- you are amazing. We know that you tried everything you could. Guest DoneRacin
No doubt you all did all that you could. Groove is now resting on that big couch at the bridge until he is ready to run again....which he has evidently proven is what he loves to do. My heart goes out to you. Godspeed Groove. Houndtime
It is so heartbreaking, but you did try. It is better to have tried and failed than to not have tried to find Groove at all. We all hoped he could have been brought home. G-d bless.
