IAMs Posted May 5, 2006 Share Posted May 5, 2006 A coworker came to school with terrible news today. Remington, her 6-year-old Great Dane was whining last night during a storm. He was let outside (which my coworker didn't really want to do, as he wasn't a big fan of rain). He walked to his favorite spot in the yard, layed down, and died. There were no symptoms. He just died. My coworker's son (a 4-year-old kiddo) isn't quite grasping it yet. He thinks Remington will be there when they get home. Remington was a sweet and wonderful dog. My coworker was in the process of acclimating him to the dog park and how to behave around other pups. He always came muzzled, spent a few minutes inside the park, and left when the excitement got to be too much. She was working very hard to get him comfortable around others. It was a slow process, but he was improving. His death was a big surprise. I am sorry for their loss.
