3/1/91 - 10/28/05

 

He collapsed 15 minutes before I got home last night. Rushed him to e vet. I thought perhaps he had contracted the virus going around. He did not respond to IV fluids and antibiotics. I received the call at 2:30 that vet felt he was not getting better, only worse. I drove back to the clinic and held the grand old man as he crossed over. My only regret is that Wednesday night I didn't give him more of my cereal that he wanted. I gave him a piece, he gave me a kiss.

 

I told him he could run like the wind now.

This is my favorite picture of Solomon. He is happy, loved and comfortable in it..... That, and letting him go to the Bridge and not suffer poor quality of life, is the best gifts you could have ever given him. He was a wonderful old gentleman who will be missed:

I'm so very sorry, Diane. :cry1 I know Soloman brought much joy to your life, and was a valiant and loving senior. He will be joined at the Bridge by lots of our beloved angels. :beatheart Godspeed, precious boy...

Oh Diane, I am so, so sorry. I just can't believe that we're all praying for Heart and Austin and in the middle of it all, you lose your precious Solomon...I'm just so sorry :grouphug:f_white
