  1. Gosh Rita, a wart cleaning and thunder too, some girls have all the luck. Here's hoping that's the end of that nasty thing !!!
  2. Continued prayers for Alan. I hope the hydrotherapy cheers him up, please update afterwards! (If Alan is anything like Rickie, he may not like it too much first time around ).
  3. Will be watching for updates. Hugs to your very pretty girl !
  4. No advice, just hugs for sweet Alan.
  5. Leo, blessed are those who knew you. Godspeed you special boy!
  6. I would be really interested too, since the dogs tend to lick anything that's applied.
  7. Maybe having a constant supply of beautiful collars results in hair growth. I plan to test this to the limit as Arlie has only moderate hair loss and a moderate (by my standards, don't ask DH) number of collars. That being said, Arlie is currently being tested for hypothyroidism, but I have given my vets all the reference material, and my instinct is that this isn't the case.
  8. No idea, but based on other threads, you might want to start a fish oil supplement. For Honey
  9. All these changes must be discouraging to all of you including Alan. But as everyone adjusts and some logistics get worked out like the sling, habits and routines develop, things should improve. I know it has to be so hard, but am praying that things will start to look up soon. And Alan, especially for you
  10. I am so very sorry - tears here with and for you. Godspeed Beck.
  11. Sending more positive thoughts to you and to Beck.
  12. Kim, my heart is breaking for you. Godspeed pretty Irish Lady.
  13. For what it's worth, a friend of mine borrowed a cart to use outside when her grey's hindquarters were paralyzed. I think they used it only to take her for walks, not as a full time thing, but she said it helped her hound's spirits immensely to be mobile and also aided overall muscle tone, both very important benefits. Perhaps Brian would be amenable to a similar approach. In the meantime, hugs to Alan and both of you.
  14. Poor babies. Run free in the freshest air sweet puppers.
  15. Just read the update, sorry the news isn't better. You have been through so much in a short time, hopefully the next steps will be clearer in a day or two. Meanwhile, we are sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. A big hug to your boy (and you). Hope Alan does well with the swimming and acupuncture.
  16. Sending positive thoughts and prayers that Alan will come up with something innocuous to treat.
  17. I wasn't able to PM you - think maybe not enough posts. If you like, e-mail me at: maryrickie123 at hotmail dot com and I'll send you the info. (Just replace the words with punctuation and remove the spaces.)
  18. Good you can see the vet soon, poor Beck. Hopefully things look worse than they are. Carol Becker at Gold Coast Greyhounds makes wonderful harnesses for hounds that can be worn 24*7, and really help you get your dog up and moving when he needs to. I'll look up her e-mail address and PM it to you. Sending all positive thoughts for a good outcome and will be looking for an update soon.

Godspeed Shane. Shanesmom, I am sorry he had to leave you so soon, my heart goes out to you.
  20. When is he due for a cast change? In addition to feeling post-op pain, if he has any kind of cast sore, that will slow him down also.
  21. You may want to follow-up with an orthopedic specialist. These injuries can be tricky.
  22. Not normally a big emoticon user, but this is cause for celebration for sure!!!!!!!!!!
  23. If you don't want to use yoghurt, for example if your grey doesn't like it, you could also try probiotics.
