  1. I am so very sorry for your loss Jey. Run with the wind special boy.
  2. I am so sorry Barbara. Rest well Coyote.
  3. Way to go Desi! One day at a time and like you said, live each one large. If I were closer I would be there to help you.
  4. Thanks for the heads up Tiff. I picked up a small bag of the beef variety yesterday. Dogs gobbled it right down. The ingredients look decent for the price and for the amount of kibble I feed it works for me.
  5. Good boy Bullitt! Hang in there you guys.
  6. Oh no Judy. I didn't respond to this thread because I have no experience but I have been watching. Prayers and more prayers for Bullitt and for you.
  7. I can't believe it has been four years. Seems like yesterday. We miss you sweet little girl.
  8. I am so sorry Pat. Rest well sweet Moe.
  9. I can't believe it has been a year already.
  10. I am sorry for your loss Wendy and Kevin. What a gorgeous girl Kimba was. Rest lightly sweetheart.
  11. Glad you have some answers for your boy and super glad it is not osteo. No, you are not alone. rest well both of you. Tomorrow is another day. Please give Desi a gentle hug from us.
  12. Another possibility for exercise in the winter is an indoor horseback riding arena. My boys are fine out in the cold and I like it too so we just carry on as usual. My female is not as fond of the cold. I take her out on leash first thing when I get home from work. We have a fenced yard but left to her own devices she will not go out if it is cold. She does in the morning but not at night. So I leash her up and take her out before she eats. After dinner she looks to go out at 7:30 to 8PM then again at 10. Keep her on schedule and she is fine.
  13. From Acana's website. The fire was in September. Q. I’ve heard that there has been damage to your Kitchen in Morinville. What happened, are you still making ORIJEN and ACANA foods? A. Yes, ORIJEN and ACANA will still be available at your pet specialty retailer. On September 8th, an equipment malfunction in our kitchens damaged one of our ovens. Until we have our new custom oven in place, we are working our remaining kitchen around the clock to produce your dog and cat’s favourite food. Because our kitchen capacity is temporarily limited, all sizes and diets may not be available in all markets, however you may not even notice a supply issue.
  14. Can't tell you. We haven't seen Ranchlands back on the shelf since the fire. Soon I hope. Ask them. Acana has been very responsive to my inquiries about availability.
  15. Glad i wasn't the only one.... Good thoughts from here for sweet Jaynie. Hopefully it is nothing. Please keep us posted Mary.
  16. Just go get him. Of my original pack of four hounds none of them "met" any of the others before they came home. Two of my current three hounds do know each other from being in the same race kennel together but I doubt it would have mattered. Greyhounds are used to living with other greyhounds. IMHO the whole let your current dog "pick / meet" a new dog is nonsense. Enjoy your hounds and ignore the judgements from people who don't know you, your situation or your hounds.
  17. Dog door. The old timers teach the newbies the ropes. Don't be. Far more greyhounds are normal, regular, happy, well adjusted dogs than not IMHO. I have had 7 greyhounds over 14 years and not one of them has had any issues. Even my spook (I knew she was a spook going in) was manageable away from home and a normal dog at home.
  18. To answer the questions: 1) No, I don't have a crate. 2) My first greyhound was fostered, my second was a bounce. I know the foster home used crates, not sure about the previous home of my second hound. Neither was crated at my house. Hounds 3 - 7 all came to me from a kennel situation. # 4 was kenneled at her adoption group in Florida before she came to me. Hounds 5, 6 and 7 all came to me directly from the track in Pooter and DD's case and the stud farm in Cracker's case. 3) My first greyhound was an only for 18 months before the second hound came home. Since then we have always had multiples. The highest count was 4 hounds, now we have 3 three hounds.
  19. Wondering how you and Pinky are today Jay? Thinking about you both.
