  1. I know, hon. A couple of weeks ago I was that way about China and she has been gone nearly 3 years. It will get better, but sometimes it will just hit you. Hugs
  2. Oh I am so sorry. What happened? Godspeed, Dove. Kassidy and you play nice, you hear?
  3. Maybe it's time to suggest fostering to your DH. It's so hard when your daily life has dozens of reminders of your babies you lose--some more subtle than others. Keep your chin up and remind DH there are greys out there that need you both. He might reconsider.
  4. I am so sorry. We can share your pain. Please fill the hole in your heart with the good memories you have of her and with the love of your other puppers.

    Roo

    God bless you, Roo.
  6. Oh, I'm so sorry. God needed another angel. This is such a hard thing to endure. We share your pain and pray for peace and comfort. She is no longer in pain. Hugs
  7. Fill the hole in your heart with happy memories. It's so hard to lose a beloved pet but we go on and try to help others who need us. Janet - Gidge has so many of the same characteristics that China had. Sometimes I feel as though she is still here with us.
  8. Our 22-year-old Siamese is waiting for her. He'll show her the ropes.
  9. Janet - hugs and a prayer for continued peace. I know how hard this is for you.
  10. http://www.angelbluemist.com/forum.html This is another good one. Terri has lost greys and still has two plus a whippet. She writes absolutely beautiful poems and has a huge heart and tremendous compassion. You cry a lot but it's cleansing.
  11. She was our first grey and was nearly 5 years old when we adopted her. She moved in as though she had been here forever. She was greyt with the cats, kids, other pets. She showed Freddie the ropes and was his rock. We had no advance warning of her osteo - just a limp and scream on a Friday morning and less than 2 hours later she was gone. We lost her less than 2 months before her 12th birthday. It has been 2 years since she has been gone and we miss her so much. Even though Gidge is a goofy little girl, she has so many of China's little quirks that we are convinced China is still with us through Gidge. An animal communicator told us through Freddie that he misses China but she is around all the time. I believe that. Run pain free, sweet girl. You will always have a special place in our hearts.
  12. Again I say - what works for one might not work for the other. We do what we believe is best for our pets, and we all need to respect that.
  13. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say. But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay. I'm writing this from the Bridge. Here I dwell with God above. Here there's no more tears of sadness. Here is just eternal love. Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight. Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night. That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you. It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone. As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on." God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do. And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you. And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight, God and I are closest to you... in the middle of the night. When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years, because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears. But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain. Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain. I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned. If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand. But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er. I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before. There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb; But together we can do it by taking one day at a time. It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too; That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you. If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain; Then you can say to God at night... "My day was not in vain." And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile. Knowing as I passed along I made somebody smile. God says: "If you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low; Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go. When you're walking down the street with me on your mind; I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind." "And when it's time for you to go... from that body to be free. Remember you're not going... you're coming here to me."
  14. I don't know what to say. Words won't help, but please know we are with you in our thoughts and prayers.
  15. BoomerMom - I call window drippings either doggy drool or droodle. Also found on air conditioning vents, consoles, and arm rests.

Mike and family - words are inadequate to express our sympathy. We helped our girl cross the bridge nearly 2 years ago and it broke our hearts. They leave a hole your heart but also leave beautiful memories that no one can ever take away. God bless you and yours. We are here for you if you need us.

  19. There are a couple of Bella dogs running here, including one named Bella Tucson. I'll see if I can find out who her parents are.
  20. All our greys do the head shake thing when they first get up. Anything beyond that is suspect. In our case they are amost always ear mites and you can see the brown gunk when you look in the ear. Mary in Houston
  21. I sorta looked into it but finally opted against it because I have so many animals - 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 parrots, 4 parakeets. I don't think they offer "group" insurance for private individuals. Our vet is great and started giving us the 15% senior citizen discount way before we actually were (seniors, that is). That is for everything - heartworm pills, Advantage, prescriptions, etc. Mary in Houston
  22. Greyhounds need a house with a big yard Greyhounds do not make good apartment dwellers Greyhounds cannot co-exist with cats or other small pets. Am I supposed to be putting the answers in here? Mary in Houston
