I love couplers. So much easier than trying to handle mutliple leashes for me. I regularly walk two on a coupler, but have walked 5 greyhounds with no effort. Good luck.

Mine seem to have chosen their favorite dumping grounds and stick to them. When we have visiting hounds though, they are the ones I have to tread carefully behind! They don't seem to respect the existing areas. Maybe you could place a "deposit" in an area that you want her to use to lure her there? imagining how tired she would get....

Maybe he finally accepted that you aren't going to escape out of the window during the night finally You have made him feel safe and secure and that should make you proud and happy! Congrats to you and the family

I'm so sorry for your loss. Loss is tough in any case, but a sudden death seems even harder to me. I lost my 7 year old to a stroke, in my arms shortly after she had a meal and was relaxing outside. She had experienced un-diagnosed focal seizures most of her short life. My heart aches for your loss and your sorrow. I hope you find some answers that will make it easier for you.

I used Revolution on Lima who had focals and Chip who had "regular" seizures but I never spotted a correlation to the usage. Jimmie's seizures are still a mystery - he's on Iverheart Plus and occasional frontline plus. I respond to every repetitive sound that I hear - I can't imagine the horror that you guys are experiencing. The helplessness is paralyzing. I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this. Fingers crossed.

SCOOOORE! Wow - you must have a bigger freezer than I do! Is it game and do you feed all raw? Sounds as if you are quite committed to a full raw diet. Well done - you should be set for a while now. I'm getting mine from the grocery that caters more to Hispanic customers and they order the turkey necks for me. The regularly carry chicken feet, gizzards and necks and occasionally backs. I cut the turkey necks in half with my new hedge lopper and then freeze them, so they actually get a half neck each time. I wrap the chicken parts in waxed paper before I freeze them to make life easier. MIne have gotten to where they sneer at thawed food - the wiggly skin freaks them out Sometimes I will toss them on a VERY hot grill just for a few seconds to sear the skin, but generally they get them frozen solid....OUTSIDE only! Raw bones are no problem - it's the cooked bones that you want to avoid.

Food City!! I'm thinking it was a mistake, the dude originally quoted 99 - 1.29 per pound. Not my fault if his folks cut us some slack!

We're raw dabblers - I'm too lazy to compose the proper ratio of meat/bone/organ so I feed Kirkland kibble (or Iams Mini if unavailable), cooked veggies/meat & about every third day I replace a meal with frozen chicken or turkey neck aka meat-sicles This week our freezer is very happy and full as I found chicken thighs for 68 cents and turkey necks for 65 cents!!! SCOOOOORE! The best news? When I took my 8 year old in for her annual visit and the vet said "her teeth look GREAT!" So I live in a gas free zone, poops are able to roll downhill, the hounds LOVE their food and I don't have to anesthetize my babies to get their teeth cleaned It may not be a suitable diet for everyone, but it works GREYT for us. Why do I go through all of this??? Cause they're worth it

I haven't tried it yet, but I saw a great recipe on GT a while back for ground chicken breast and sweet potato jerky treats. I don't know why you couldn't use your jerky gun to shape these too? Or you could just spread them and make "leather" with them. As I recall those were the only ingredients. I'm always leery of using garlic since I've heard so many varying opinions about it, so I don't add anything to my treats. Mine seem to like chicken more than beef for some reason. Can't wait to hear how yours turn out!

Having just endured two weeks of open wounds on my girl, I understand your confusion about permitting the licking . My girl would have lost her mind in an e-collar, so I just watched her carefully and muzzled as needed. I quickly discovered that she was most prone to licking when I kept insisting on applying the neosporin, so I just eliminated it as she had 2 weeks of antibiotics. Her wounds were left open the entire time - bite wounds to be exact. Good luck with your guy - sounds like you've both been through a lot already.

Sounds like a seizure to me as well and I'd be contacting my vet. If it was, they are usually very disoriented after an event and often fearful. I always avoid touching them until they appear calm and able to recognize me. I might speak quietly to them and try to prevent them from injuring themselves, but I avoid touching them. Best wishes for a positive outcome for you both. I know how scary this can be.

Road trip? Even around the block? Mine go nuts if they dont' get out or have visitors to break up their day. Sometimes I just load them up to take the recycling place. Jimmie gets the wind in his face, spits on the car and then he's happy Sorry about the sore toe.

Thanks! I made them on some NEON nylon fabric that I had and had the embroidery done by a friend. I had the lettering made very large so that it could be read at a distance if the hounds were ever loose. I put velcro on them and they wear them whenever we're out ... just in case. Oh geez that makes me sick to hear about all those injuries and damage. I'm so sorry for everyone that got hurt. But even if the guy doesn't want the dog, he was the owner when the attack happened so he's still responsible. I hope the attack was reported to the police. No space aggression, but I always count all my fingers after I do Leah's nails. She doesn't trust ANYONE to touch her feet, but she was in pain for many months before we had the amp. It's been about 5 years and other than the paranoia over her feet, she's as normal as she ever was

I think the fringe on Leah's butt is a bonus It's pretty common and I've heard lots of theories about what causes it and how to "fix" it, but I really don't care about it anymore as long as everything else is working.
