Lordy, I miss that boy. It feels so trite to tell you how much *I* miss him, when I cannot possibly miss him as much as you do, but I just...I do. I really, really do... I've said it before and I'll say it again...thank you for sharing him with us. I can't help but think that such a special boy in no small part reflects his special humans.

Oh no - Sheri & Greg, I'm so sorry for your loss of Scooter. 15 years is a long and wonderful life, but it is never long enough, is it?? Sheri, you aren't a bad mom, and Scooter would not think so! Animals just don't worry and fret the way we do. She was just living, being herself, maybe something hurt a bit, but it wasn't anything she would associate with blame or regret - animals just don't do that. All she knew from you and for was love - you were her "skin-mom and dad" and all the blessings in her life came from you, including the final release you gave her. I bet her ashes will come to comfort you - give yourself the time to grieve, and then allow yourself to laugh and smile as the happy memories are remembered. Lisa

I am so sorry. We cannot know everything that will happen when these dogs leave. You did everything you could and then some - you loved Joe. And I think for a dog to know that bond with a human is as fulfilling for them as it is for us. He doesn't know it was only for a short time, as I do not think they measure time the same way we do - he just knows he loved and was loved. And now he knows he will see you again, some day. It's not "good-bye" but rather "until we meet again"... Run free Joe...
