  1. Oh Eva - I am so sorry to hear this! Please give Carrier a hug for my and one for you and Tim as well. Tons of good thoughts and healing light to Carrier. If there is anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate...
  2. Oh no - I just can't believe this! I only recently saw the sad thread in HM and had been trying to think of the words to post there. I never thought I'd be trying to find the words to say in Rememberence. It's so unfair, we never have enough time. Scooterman was such an awesome boy, his character so strong in your words and pictures...I'm just so sorry.
  3. I think I see a hint of smile on the face of the patient! He knows he is livin' large and lovin' every minute of it! That boy needs about a million kissies - and mke one from me, if you could!

  8. There is a GTer that has a beautiful bit of a poem by Emily Dicknson in their signature, and it has always touched me: "Unable are the Loved to die for Love is Immortality" The love you shared with Peter will keep him with you always. I'm sorry that his time with you on this earth had to end so soon. :grouphug
  9. When my husky X tore her ACL at 9, the vet didn't recommend anything specific as far as rehab went. Lots of slow, leash walks for several weeks after the surgery, and just gradually increasing the length and pace and she did great, had a touch of arthritis as she got older but nothing that slowed her down at all. They did mention swimming if possible, but she hated water, so I never investigated it. I know there are animal rehab places, that have swimming set-ups that might work...
  10. Okay I'm going to read this at home - scares the coworkers when I'm sitting here with tears! But I can already tell it's beautiful...
  11. Aw, darn it! Good thoughts and healing energy are comingto all of you. :f_pink :grouphug
  12. Probably best to get him to a vet and get the feet wrapped up, don't want to get infection and the padding will feel better when he is walking. VERY glad to hear he is home!!

  22. I've noticed over the past week or so, Max is drinking a lot more water. He has never been much of a water drinker (one of the reasons I soak his kibble in water) and he's now drinking his bowl dry at one go, a few times a day. This isn't a steady pattern, he can go most of the day without drinking and then consume a lot. In the overall scheme, I don't think he's drinking an abnormal amount but it is a lot for him (I'm going to start actually mearsuring and keeping track tomorrow). He's peeing what I would say is an equitable amount, with no indication of an inability to hold it, he sleeps through the night. He isn't different in any other way - still his usual, goofy self! His creatinine has always been a bit on the high side - I believe the last time it was 1.7, never higher. The one thing that is different is I've recently switched foods, to Orijen wild fish formula. This food has no carbs and a high protein value - over 40%. I know for kidney problems a low protein diet is recommended - could a high protein food be stressing his kidneys? Or could it just be making him thirstier? It has been a bit hot the past couple of days, but he was also drinking like this when it was cooler, earlier this week. I'm going to get an urinanalysis and take him for a check up but just wondered if there were any similar experiences with a high protein food...
  23. I'm so thankful that Daphne and Henry's final years were amongst those who loved them, that they had the opportunity to forget the earlier years. I hope their families know how special their gift to these two were. Run, play, have fun together puppers... :grouphug :grouphug
  24. I'm so sorry for you loss. Such a handsome boy and such a loved boy! :grouphug
