  1. My vet told me this when I took my cats to get vaccinated. I wanted a 3 year and they said they didn't carry it because of the link to brain tumors??
  2. I watch his show when I can catch it. I think he has some good theories and incorporate some of his techniques into my daily training. He's just a trainer like all the others. Some of his things work for some people/pups and some don't. You have to pick and choose, as always, to see what works for you and your pup.
  3. ok thanks. I think I'm giving up for this forum LOL I shall be pictureless
  4. Am I following the rules? Sorry if I seem clueless. I got the pictures as small as I could
  5. um... yeah I never actually read the instructions..... lol here's a very in depth guide http://homepages.udayton.edu/~merensjp/dob...mel/dremel.html
  6. It only comes with one attachment so there is no confusion or option! It does come with some extra sandpaper things
  7. Just don't buy the infomercial ones! I had to return them and am still struggling to get my money back. I went out and bought this http://www.acetoolonline.com/ProductDetail...urce=googlebase I just use it a few times a week so it's not a huge chore to do all at once. It's really easy to use and I can even file my own nails with it.
  8. I'm so glad she likes it! Hopefully it'll help keep weight on her for the chemo.
  9. Someone just mentioned to try and give Ember Venison. I'm located in Wilmington DE and would be willing to donate a pack of ground venison. Not sure how far away in NJ you are located. But we can meet up later tonight or Friday night if you would like. It's a doe (last year) from a organized hunt in NJ, so the deer's main diet was corn so it's not too gamey tasting. It's just one little bag of it so we can't really make a meal out of it. I was saving it for Rainy, but I think Ember would enjoy it more. Plus it'll lite a fire under DH butt to refill my freezer this year! I have my email up all day at work jgeiger2006 at gmail dot com (quickest way to reach me until 5pm) After 5pm cell # is 610-800-9693 Jess
  10. Pushy Pushy.... We are proud to announce our new family member Rainy! The cat/dog relationship is iffy. Rain isn't going after them but just follows and whines at them. lol She appears to be confused by the hissing, spitting, and poofing up. Can't understand why they don't like her! She had done the 'let's play' crouch and barked at Murdoc a few times, but snaps out of it with a verbal correction. I'm glad that she is learning to show the cats respect. Although her fear of the cats is slowly going away. I hope one of them swats her soon. Last night was um.... not fun! Have I ever told anyone how much I like sleep? We got ready for bed, baby gated her in the bedroom with us and muzzled her for the kitties safety. After 2 hours of pacing and almost constant whining, Chris somehow got her to lay down and fall asleep. I think he was hanging half off the bed petting her until she started snoring. Then around 3am Chris woke me up saying she was cold, and did we have a blanket to throw over her. I told him to just turn off the fan in our room. As soon as he moved, it was wake up time! LOL and we started the whining and pacing all over again. Eventually I snapped a leash on her and Chris tied it to his wrist so she had to stay near her dog bed, she fell asleep shortly. Then around 4:30ish we were awoken by the greyhound scream of death! I think she got her muzzle caught on the sheet? Definitely an emergency in Rain's mind! What a way to wake up... Tonight should be better as she gets more comfy with all of us. Lots of pacing and sniffing was going on in this apartment. We are also having minor crate problems. She doesn't want to go in and whines. We need to fix this by Monday! lol I'm planning on putting her inside that crate hundreds of times this weekend. It'll be old stuff by Monday. It is slowly getting better, we just got back form Petsmart to get a tag collar and a tag, she was silent as we crept back to the apartment door. No angry neighbors were meeting us with torches, I figure that's a great sign. We have been working on getting her to enter the crate and just stand there with the door open, being relaxed with the door shut and us wandering around doing stuff, etc. She was still very stressed this morning but her tail wasn't plastered up against her belly and she's starting to play with toys. We just have to work on the cats. it's slowly getting better. The best thing.... No accidents so far! She's been very good about going outside on our walks. Poops are nice and solid, not runny from the stress. We might need to get a splatter guard for the wall! She's one messy drinker! We just got back from the park. Had a fight with a sticker bush. Only 1 sticker got into poor Rainy's skin, no blood or anything. but she did give a little yelp when the bush attacked her. I have to remember her thin coat. Tisk Tisk Mom.... I'm used to dogs that could wallow in a sticker bush and they wouldn't mind. We ran into a bike while I was dislodging the sticker, so I guess she's not scared of bikes. lol She is SO well behaved! We saw at least 25 squirrels and she just got excited, but stayed right in her heel position when I told her to leave it. It took us one hour to go up 5 flights of stairs. Rainy was too stressed to be interested in my thoughtful hotdog pieces. She ran up the last 1/2 a flight all by herself! I think she just wanted to get back home. I was surprised though, it started out very slowly. I had to move each front paw slowly and separately, then scoop her butt up a stair. Rinse and repeat up 5 flights. Poor girl shook the whole time. She was certainly not trying to be difficult, but was really scared of falling. Right now is the first time she's been really asleep. She's sacked out on her dog bed, too tired to whine or shadow me around the apartment, and peacefully sleeping. I hope she'll be hungry for dinner tonight, she hasn't really eaten much of anything except for the random cookie. Trying to decide if I should make her sleep with her muzzle on. She was trying to rub it off all last night, and has spent the entire day w/o it. She hasn't been by herself with the kitties yet. Rain hasn't showed any aggression towards the cats, just confusion/playfulness/curiosity that we can correct with a little "leave it" decisions decisions... Chris wants to leave it off, I'm a little more aware of what 'could' happen. On to the pictures! The pictures aren't that great, but it proves she's still alive and is slowly settling in! (if I do this picture thing wrong, someone please tell me how to do it right!) She loves this toy! The last 2 were from last night before we attempted to sleep...
  11. My parents live in PA and their pup just got diagnosed with Lymes. Please do frontline!
  12. Keep hanging in there. Things will get better. My parents pup just got diagnosed with Lymes and is on her 2nd day of pills, so your not alone in medicating
  13. Hello! I'm sitting in Newark right now... waiting the seconds slowly tick by.... 5pm will never happen! lol
  14. HAHA My Dad's a kook! I emailed him the info on Rain and he set her picture as his desktop back ground so his pups 'can get used to her' I think he's just as excited as we are.
  15. Thanks! I'll add the dosage question to the list of thing to ask the vet when we have our first appointment
  16. Really? Tell me everything! lol Where does she sleep? How is she with stairs? Does she like yummy treats? Do you have kitties at your house? Does she like getting her teeth brushed? What time does she wake up in the morning? Does she enjoy other pups for company? You may regret telling your identity.. Saturday is such a long way away
  17. I would really enjoy that! Thanks. Wow another from Wilmington! Who knew? Thanks for the welcome
  18. Was he maybe sleeping and dreaming? If not I'd call the vet to just check. Hope it's nothing
  19. Well the couch is given! Our apt has plush carpet over a concrete floor. My ribs start to hurt after laying on the floor for a bit and I have plenty of fat on me. It's not hard to worm your way into both of our hearts... well that is, as long as your furry. People, sometimes not as lovable! 3 more full days then we can find out. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for us! I feel like a kid at Christmas, I have gone entirely too long without a pup in my life.
  20. EEEPPPP!!!! DH and I fell in love with her adorable pictures last week! We were told she was reserved for a return adopter that was looking for a very specific pup. I will take it as it didn't work out.... We were a little sad when hearing that, but was glad she was getting a home. Now I'm never going to sleep tonight! Rain is so pretty! She's got cute little whiskers! cute whisker pic I can't wait for Chris to get home from class! He's going to be so excited. Rain has such goofy ears, who can't love them? She definitely doesn't look old! She's only 3 if I remember correctly. (going to pretend that I'm not a nerd who as all the available dogs memorized....) Her blog makes her seem like the perfect pup for us. Not too dependent on her people that she's going to have trouble while we are at work I have a smile on that is a mile wide right now! Thanks for the leak of info.... lol I really hope we can click in person!
  21. I'm toying with the idea of taking a car trip to Dewey..... It'll be just after we get our pup, so we will have to see how well adjusted she is. Honestly the Dewey thing seems a little daunting to me! lol We're definitely planning on going next year! Maybe even getting a room so we can stay for the entire weekend.
  22. OK the decision is to go with VPI, with their standard coverage plan. We will be covered for any medical emergencies (cancer, xrays, prescription meds, etc), and can pay for regular vet visits ourselves. A little over $100 a year and well worth the peace of mind. Thanks everyone for their advice!
