  1. Hope you get a good rest tonight Blitz. Feel better soon sweety. Deanna, hope you are able to rest as well.
  2. poor boy just can't catch a break and neither can you or Brian. Deanna I have told you and Brian this many times, it's amazing how these special pup end up with you and the amazing care you give them (yes I know all of us greyhound owners take special care of our pups, but it's different with you and Brian). I hope and pray this is not a big set back for Blitz and I refuse to believe that any hounds will leave your family any time soon. Please give Blitz lovins from me. Please let us know how he's doing once home and calmed down. Karen
  3. Greyhounds are like potato chips, once you adopt one you usually adopt a 2nd, 3rd, etc. hence the term "chipping"
  4. Sweet Blitz......glad things are getting better for him Deanna.
  5. Baby boy Blitz, it's Auntie Karen here, I hope the medicine works and that you feel better sweety. Yulky eye or not you are still one hunka muffin of a boy. Love you sweety Deanna, please give him some lovins and scritches from me.

  7. Deanna, please let me know if there is anything I can do, I mean anything! Sweet Blitz it's ok to lay down sweety, you need to try to stay calm handsome boy. I love you Blitzy boy and will be praying for you. Deanna, call me if you need to talk ok? Karen
  8. Just an FYI, when I saw Dr. Couto at the Virginia event he mentioned that even when he's traveling he takes at least 2 hours each night to read/reply to emails. Prayers coming your way.
  9. Happy Birthday you precious angel. What a handsome boy. Sounds like you have a great day sweety.
  10. Marylin I am so sorry for your loss, you have certanily endured so much. You are right though Bob and your beloved pups are all together again for eternity, they will all be watching over you. I have never met you but you are an amazing lady, so dedicated to the hardship pups and greyhounds in general. I send you prayers for peace and healing. So are such a strong lady, the reason you are here is for the pups, it takes a special kind of person to do what you do. I'm hoping that one day I'll be able to get down there to meet you and spend some time helping out and loving in the precious babes you have under your care. Stay strong and know anytime you need a cyber hug or just to vent, GT is just a keyboard away. Karen
  11. My pups have had a reaction to frontline plus. I've used regular frontline and they have not had an issue.
  12. I'm not quite sure what's going on but lately Marx has been showing some unsteadiness with his hind legs. He hesitates when coming in/out the back door. There is no yelping. Tonight I manipulated both of his hind legs to see if there was any kind of a reaction or resistance, there was none. Is it possible this is an early stage of lumbosacral stenosis??? Marx is only 8 and healthy. Any thoughts from those who have hounds with this condition. Thanks, Karen
  13. Welcome! Such beautiful hounds. Your Emma looks a lot like Gter dmswartzfagers bridge boy Frazzle, who I miss terribly (obviously Frazzle is on the left ) Again welcome for Maryland

    Kiowa

I'm sorry Sheila. How blessed he was to have you. Godspeed Kiowa.
  15. Just look at that angel Good girl Snickers, now you rest up and get ready for more sweety.
  16. As far as personality, what are the typical changes? I hung out with a few greys today, and one of them seemed very "on", and focused on squirrels. He had only been off the track for a couple months. He also seemed aluf (sp?). Then there was another dog that was very laid back, but spent more time with me, and that dog had been off the track for a couple years. There was another one, and it was the instigator to the other dogs. He was very ornery with the dogs, but very nice to humans. I guess I like parts of the personality of each of the dogs, but not one sticks out yet. Thanks, wink wink. Glad to be here. Each greyhound is different as you have witnessed. Some have higher prey drives (hence the interest is squirrles) than others. My female has a higher prey drive than my male. She turned 10 if February and is just now starting to settle down. On the other hand my male has always been the laid back pup of the two. It seems the males tend to be a bit more laid back. Remember when meeting a greyhound just off the track, they have never been in anyother environment than the farm or track and only know other greyhounds. Everything is new to them and it can be very confusing and a bit over whelming for some. Take your time, you will know when you meet the pup you are supposed to bring home. Oh, welcome to GT, you will love it here!
  17. What a wonderful tribute. Arco was one special pup. I'm sorry for your loss, but as you know you will be together again one day. Godspeed Arco....
  18. Poor pups. Melissa please give them some lovins from me ok? Here's a big cyber hug for you too
  19. We use Frontline plus, pups have never had GI issues but one thing I do notice is that they are pretty sensitive to it. Lily & Marx become very antsy, I wonder if it burns after applying it? I did try just plane Frontline and the pups had no reaction what so ever. Unfortunately my vet only carries Frontline Plus. Karen
  20. I'm sorry Petra.... What a tragic day it's been. Godspeed precious babes. Prayers and hugs for your broken heart Petra. Karen
  21. Marx had a very restless night and I'm exhausted At one point my sweet boy was actually spooning against me, then he settled down and slept a bit. I'm hoping today will be better with the meds on board. I'll update later, have to get ready to leave for work. Karen
  22. Thanks Melissa! We have the Wiggles Wags and Whiskers no pull harness, just love it, and will now use it all the time, it should be interesting getting DH used to using it though Thanks so much everyone! I managed to get Marx to settle down after getting back from the vet this morning. Poor thing wanted to go upstairs to our bed so badly......of course I gave in and carried him up stairs 70lbs of shedding dog is just so much fun to carry around I think I'll be tasting fur for a week! The sweet boy slept for 5 hours. I did position the pillows so his neck was supported and of course he thought his poo didn't stink. Talk about spoiled.........man do theses pups have us all trained!
  23. Thanks Jen! I'm overly worried since GIG is next weekend, I certainly will use caution while at the event.
