  1. she managed a nice 2 block walk tonite. im going to feed her another small meal around 8 pm. my vet is pretty hip. actually the whole team is. im sure they would listen to a question on alternative therapies with an open mind and answer based on fact and not anecdotal evidence. they are all UPENN grads after all :thumbs-up

Good to see she is eating and doing well. So...you have a team of VMD's on your side.

  2. Sending wishes that your stress eases. I have something to make you smile (I hope). Last night I had to give our old cat about 150cc of fluids SQ. She had 3 "kitty boobs" and is still a little lumpy.

As others have said the fluids should absorb as the body needs them. I am skipping fluids tonight because she has eaten 1 and 1/2 jars of Baby food lamb.

HGE takes time to resolve, and you have done all the proper support towards recovery.

Hang in there and rest while Soul is.

  3. Cerenia (maropitant citrate) is an anti-emetic (anti-vomiting) product indicated for the treatment and prevention of acute emesis (including emesis induced by chemotherapy) and the prevention of vomiting due to motion sickness in dogs.

This is from the Pfizer literature. It works on the emesis center in the brain for vomiting. Hopefully her nausea passes naturally on its own, but you might ask your vet about it.

I will keep my fingers crossed she will like the chicken noodle soup.

  4. Sounds like tapeworms...do not worry a simple shot or pill from your Vet will take care of them.

Tapeworms do not have eggs that show up in fecals, momma tape is segmented and those 1" pieces you see are the new babies she is shedding. They are dead when you see the dried rice phase.

None of the Heartguards, Interceptors etc cover tapeworm.

  5. Hello from Virginia. Glad you are going to tech school, we always need dedicated people in the business. Depending on how long you have been an assistant you know each day is different, some days are good some are sad. Welcome aboard, hope you figure out the picture thing.
