  1. wow thanks for remembering guys! i left a message for my vet... :goodluck that she calls me back w/ some answers today! that growth on his back leg is coming back again i was hoping it would just go away.
  2. Thanks guys. I think I panicked over nothing It seems to have popped overnight so hopefully it will just go away now. Do hemangiomas usually keep coming back? I did email a pic to my vet yesterday & she said she will freeze it off the next time I am there if needed. She also said to call on Wed for Legs' test results.
  3. So I noticed a little growth on Legs' back leg last week b/c it started bleeding, but didn't really think twice about it. But it has come back bigger. Is this anything to worry about? I am assuming he will see the vet once we get his heart test results back in the next week or so. Can it wait until then?
  4. I'm glad (as glad as I can be given the circumstances) that he at least had an episode while wearing it. Were you supposed to keep any sort of activity journal to go with it? thank you!! No, I wasn't supposed to keep any notes about his activity, but that is a good idea. I'm going to write it down now just in case Though I'd think anyone reading the test would quickly be able to tell what was going on. He's either out exercising, or sound asleep
  5. Thank guys, you're so smart. Just took them off w/ some castor oil, no problem! He looks so relieved to be free!! Right before I took him for about a 2 mile walk & he def started having his same weird issues so please keep your fingers crossed that we will have some answers soon
  6. Thank you so much for checking on him! He's doing great! We went for a long walk last night & he didn't start collapsing, but hopefully his heart rate got high enough for them to see if there are changes. He doesn't seem bothered by the vest & wires at all. I kept waking up & checking on him overnight but he hardly moved a muscle, I think I exhausted him yesterday since he's been on limited exercise for awhile. I will take him for another longish walk/jog at lunchtime & then return everything to the vet for her to send it out. Anyone have any advice on the best way to get the sticky circles off his skin? My vet said I could bring him back & she'd do it, but it will be less stress on him if I can just take them off quickly at home.
  7. :heart he's being such a good boy about wearing the vest & wires! The little pack holding the battery keeps falling off, but I am keeping a close eye on him. I took him to the park and we jogged around a bit. I am so thankful I had so much time to prepare him and get him used to the vest otherwise this would have been a disaster. Now hopefully it will actually tell us something! The test has to be sent back so I prob won't know anything until late next week at the earliest The one good thing is that he's so bald that he did not have to be shaved
  8. He's MUCH better today I cleaned it out again this morning & it looked normal w/ pretty much no smell. I called my vet yesterday & they said I could give him some Baytril that I have on hand. Whew, so relieved. That was most unpleasant I will be more diligent about checking it & flushing it every once in awhile.
  9. This is what I thought, b/c I remember last time they said he didn't need meds. I tried to be thorough but I doubt I did a good job. He really smells bad today. I will call & see if someone can do it Thurs when I take Legs for his heart test. Thanks everyone!
  10. I'm so sad to read this. I never met Jilly but I felt like I did. I think all of us on GT loved her! She will be missed.
  11. Sorry for the gross topic. This is about Puzzle, my IG. He has something going on w/ his penis. I noticed that he smelled bad a couple days ago, and thought he somehow rolled in something so I gave him a bath. Then yesterday I realized it was coming from his penis It smells REALLY bad. So I flushed it out w/ chlorhexidine solution and sprayed vetericyn spray on it. There was a lot of chalky tan stuff in there. And his actual penis is very pale, is that normal? I thought it was supposed to be reddish, but none of my dogs ever "expose" themselves so I don't know how it usually looks. This morning it had even more pussy stuff in there. Does this need vet? He had this same thing about 3 years ago and they told me if it happened again to just flush it out. But I'm really not so great w/ gross stuff. I actually fully fainted at the vet watching them flush it out last time, to the point where they almost called an ambulance I've never lived that one down So this time I'm trying to be brave and avoid unnecessary vet bills... but how long until I see improvements? Does it sound like he needs antibiotics? If you made it this far, thank you! Any help much appreciated
  12. omg Legs is FINALLY getting the Holter test done. It took forever to get here & then my vet was away for a week. He is getting it put on on Thurs. I took the day off so I can take him for a long walk, to the park, etc. The good thing is that he's totally used to wearing the vest so hopefully adding the wires wont be too much of a shock to him. I have no idea when I will know the results, hopefully by early next week. I can't take the waiting anymore!!
  13. That's weird, Healthy Paws covered Legs' chiro & acupuncture the last couple of months, no questions asked. But glad to hear it's a blanket policy now. But I'm guessing the premiums will also go up in 2013
  14. wow, poor Mork! But all things considered I'm glad it's just his toe. How long does it take a toe to heal? I completely agree, no surgery on such on old guy, for either issue. Give him a kiss for me when you see him! And a picture would be great too
  15. Oh no, that must be a horrible feeling. Thinking good thoughts for your boy I was coming to tell you that Jabari had a perianal adenoma a couple of years ago. His was bigger than a pea, and he's only 11 lbs. My vet removed it b/c she said if it grew it would be harder to remove and could cause problems, and that is an area you don't want to mess with. Jabari recovered just fine, no issues. Path report came back benign. Let us know how Mork is doing...
  16. :heart :heart you guys are the best! What a wonderful happy story for all of you!! The girls are beautiful
  17. I have Healthy Paws. Legs' coverage is now $45/month, w/ the $250 deductible per year. I think if I did the math it wouldn't be worth it, however, I have been very happy with them. I email them the form & invoice from our vet visit, and have a check w/in the week for 90% of everything they cover (they don't cover any office visits/consults or routine stuff).
  18. how terrifying Kari. I can only imagine what a mess I'd be. We are all here with you waiting and pulling for your boy
  19. He's already mastered sleeping in it! But moving normally with it on will take some work. I was pleasantly surprised how well it fits his body shape. Extra treats should help the situation
  20. omg Kari, I just saw this. Thinking of you guys & sending tons of good wishes.
  21. My vet is so smart. I am going to pick up the vest that Legs will have to wear for the Holter test today, so he can get used to it over the weekend. I'll have him sleep in it tonight and see how that goes. I haven't heard anything else about his bloodwork or urine culture. eta: here he is in the vest. He won't move off this rug
