    Vale Abby

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Your family will be in my thoughts. Now Abby can run with all the other bridge kids.
  3. I'm so sorry Lynn. I know how sad it is to lose a friend. :
  4. Django(Nuzy)- Our first greyhound...he started it all. He taught us that adjusting takes time but it is worth the wait. He was the sweetest boy who ever lived. Speed(Toni)- He was destined to be ours. He taught me that a dog can truly be a best friend. My brindle boys gave me the gift of greyhounds and brought my heart, Riley, to me. They made sure that I got the right one.
  5. Oh no. It must be so hard to lose two on one day. I am sure she is with Shadow and they are running happy and pain free. Sending lots of love...
  6. I'm so sorry. I hope he is running free with all the other bridge angels.
  7. Oh Lynn, I am so sorry! Even though it was her time, it is still so sad. I know you are going to miss her! How could you not? Just try to remember all the good times and know that she went out in the best way. Hug all your pups extra tight. Run free sweet Ellie!
  8. I'd be happy to send a check. Riley littermate, Interceptor Irv, is one of the gh's waiting at Plainfield Rockingship, if you have a chance: Sparkplug Scott sire: Chick's Racey, dam: Facetious I know you have lots of dogs to look up so it's no big deal.
  9. Okay, I got some more information about what happened. I guess there was more than just this once instance of him biting her niece. He got very possessive of her and mean when she brought him to her parent's home and had also attacked her parent's dachshund. The vet where she had him neutered diagnosed him with fear aggression, which had been masked b/c she had lived with him alone in her apartment before this. This apparently is a very grey savvy vet and said he has had to do this to other greyhounds with fear aggression before. Hearing this makes me feel like it is possible that this was the right thing to do. I have heard of fear aggression and that it can be untreatable. I am not any less sad that he died, but at least there was a valid reason for it.

    Gonzo

Some of you might remember when I posted pics of my new friend and he greyhound. She had just adopted him straight off the track. He was the sweetest brindle boy and both Riley and I fell in love with him. We met every day at the park for about 2 months and then she went home for the summer. I just got an email from her saying that Gonzo bit her little 2 year old niece so THEY PUT HIM TO SLEEP. I am so sad. I can't believe it. I know I wasn't there, but I feel like they did the wrong thing. They could have given him to any rescue and he could have been placed in a home with no children. She could have given him to me. I would have taken him if I knew the alternative. I really think that an experienced greyhound owner could have worked with him. I am just so upset.
