  3. Lots and lots of prayers for Bina, and for you. Crossed fingers and paws for the best possible outcome.
  4. Sending loads of prayers for your girl and you.
  5. That is truly the best news I've heard today!!!!! So happy for all of you.
  6. I have no help to offer, I wish I did. Never apologize though, when asking for help. Everyone on here wants the best for these babies. I will send lots of prayers your way for both of you.
  7. Yay, Festus. You'll be the best looking guy on the beach!! Stay away from the casino though, they want to get all your cookies!
  8. Sending prayers and hugs. Thinking only the best things for Savannah.
  9. I agree wholeheartedly with the above. Work with your vet, work with your heart. You will know the right course to take. What my vet told me when Scarlett went through this was that if she needs more pain meds, then adjust the dosage. Sadly, you are not looking to extend time but to make time comfortable for her. If you can, take some vacation time and be with Lois. And give her any darn thing in the world that she wants to eat. Now I'm starting to cry. Lots of prayers for you and Lois.
  10. I feel your pain. The closest eVet to me is staggeringly expensive. Yes, I understand that NYC is expensive in general but the also add rudeness in to the mix which just makes it worse. When I lost Morgaine it cost me over $2,000 for them to examine her, administer valium, and have two techs hold her on the table during the seizure. An additional $500 to cremate her. When they called me the day after I lost her to look for more money I nearly went ballistic. The same practice did the same thing years earlier when Scarlett developed a blood clot after surgery there. The eVet refused to call me back from his home since I had caller ID (like I wanted to call him at home?) and then when we got there tried to stop me from leaving because he didn't know how to use the computer system to access the credit card number on file. I'm more than willing to pay whatever it takes to give my girls the best care, I just don't understand why within the same city (the Animal Medical Center -- the BIG eVet) costs far less. Unfortunately, in both of these cases, closeness counted.
  11. Lots of prayers and good thoughts coming your way.
  12. I am so sorry for your loss. Run free Pippin!
  13. It looks like a histiocytoma. Aquitaine got a histiocytoma on her belly a month after I got her. It was about the size of a quarter and scared me to death. The vet said it could be a mast cell tumor or a histiocytoma and aspirated it and it came back as a histiocytoma. Best to get it checked so that you know (and can stop panicking). My vet said that sometimes they will continue to come back for the life of the dog but we've had no reappearances. Guinness, take care and stop licking!
  14. Prayers for a good surgery and a speedy recover!
  15. I lost my first girl just shy of her 19th birthday and my second girl 3 weeks after her 6th. My vet says that with good care there is no reason to not expect a lifespan of 15. I am greedy, I want 20 (or more)!
  16. Yay!!! Spencer is home and happy just like he should be. Nothing wrong at all with being the crazy dog lady! That's pretty much my retirement goal!
  17. I'm a coward when it comes to my girl. She was getting soft stools and throwing up bile on her last order of Nutro several months ago. I switched her to Evo/Innova and some Iams and there have been no problems since then. The Innova/Evo is a whole lot more expensive but absolutely worth the peace of mind. During the recall last year I switched to Newman's Organic and she happily ate that for several months then decided she didn't like it anymore.
  18. Sending loads of prayers your way for you and your boy.
  19. Crossed fingers and paws and lots of prayers from Aquitaine and her human.
  20. Spencer is so happy to be home and feeling better.
