Do (healthy) Greyhounds typically have mildly elevated GGT levels as opposed to other breeds? I can't find reference to this in any of my literature.
GGT = liver enzyme Gamma-Glutamyl- transpeptidase

Thank you for your good thoughts and advice. I don't expect any extractions, just a routine cleaning, but I'm still anxious. This little girl is our treasure and joy! She is so very loved!

Wendy is having her first, routine dental since she's been with us (5 years). Her teeth are in good shape and I want to keep them that way!
What can I expect after and are there any helpful hints? Thanks!

Wendy has a dropped toe on a hind foot. Other than look weird, it gives her no problem.

I've given Wendy FortiFlora (on her vet's advice) since day one (5 years ago). It has worked very well to eliminate excess gas and help firm up poops.
-
It's bad but I don't find it overwhelming as some do. The farts it produces, however....
-
How about Bag Balm? WIll that work? Wendy is always slipping and sliding - not so much on the tile floors, but on our concrete patio.

FortiFlora works well for my Wendy.

So aptly named. I'm so sorry, Robin.

Wendy gets lamb shanks in addition to turkey necks. She doesn't care for beef bones, the little diva.
-
Is she eating/drinking out of plastic bowls? My Ridgeback developed similar lesions on his nose from contact with plastic bowls. Switching to stainless steel did the trick.

I crush it and mix it in to Wendy's food...no problem. But, yes, over-the-top expensive. Big pharma. has us all by the b@llz.

So sorry Pop had to leave you.

So glad handsome Rudy is on the mend. The gulping/swallowing thing...my Wendy got something stuck in her throat at 3 a.m. (of course) a while back. She was able to breathe but obviously in distress trying to get whatever it was out. I checked her mouth, saw nothing, then stuck two fingers into her throat. I couldn't feel anything but I guess I dislodged the obstruction enough for her to swallow it. Anyway, she did the gulp, swallow and cough thing for 2-3 days afterwards probably from her throat being irritated.

Wendy loves her dehydrated duck feet! I've been buying them from SitStay but the shipping cost is killing me.
Where do you buy your duck feet?

Repeat after me...It's nothing...it's nothing...it's nothing. Ronon

Wendy has done this to her thigh on occasion but without the squealing. It's very funny to watch and disturbing at the same time. I have no idea what causes this.

First, it's probably mostly my fault that Organic Bullies sold out so quickly
-- I reordered after I got my first order because I was so happy to find a good source, the sticks keep well in the freezer and my hounds told me to... I'm surprised and pleased to now know others (cdholl, greydreams and others!) who seek these treats out. If anyone ordered after they went out and they're not restocked soon, I apologize, pm me and I'll try to share as much as Simba and Stella will let me. I didn't mean to be selfish -- until people commented here, I was the only person I knew who gave these as treats.
Not to worry Vers...you know that when the hounds speak the hoomans must obey!
Liz of Organic Bullies, hello! I found your company through a desperate Google search (random first-time customer, no affiliation). I was very happy with the quality of the product and the quick delivery -- thank you for both. I'm also glad you joined here to give us an update -- I hope you can update again once the dried green tripe is back in stock? My hounds would be delighted if I became one of your best customersand it looks like you might even have some new customers from my hounds' recommendation.
Oh, yes, please Liz...do let us GT'ers know when you've restock. I am hooked on your web-site, the products and the super-service.

I ordered two bags a couple of days ago and just received a phone call and an email saying that they were out of stock and that it would be a long time before the supply was replenished. I got a refund and a $10 store credit. I guess all us GT'ers bought them out!

I am so very sorry. Hod Rod, beautiful boy, you will be missed.
-
My heart aches for you.

Maybe I'll give FotiFlora a shot, we're just using generic ones from Whole Foods.
I've given my Wendy FortiFlora daily since we got her on the advice of our vet. The paint has not peeled off the walls since!

I made the mistake of allowing a mixed breed puppy that I raised play bite. She became a real biter as an adult. I would not recommend allowing a dog to put his teeth on you for any reason.
Ggt Levels In Greyhounds

We're in the same boat then...I was aware of the ALT but not the GGT. I can't find any mention of GGT levels in any of Dr. Stack's or Dr. Couto's literature. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about...Wendy's ALT and GGT levels were "mildly elevated"...but I do like to be educated on anything Greyhound. Thank you for responding.
