  1. :banana:banana In this morning's poop find stocking material. Not sure it is the rest of the stocking but I will keep monitoring him to make sure he has passed all of it. No problems right now, eating, pooping and peeing normally. If he stops eating then it will be a mad dash to the vet or ER as he is a HOOVER that probably why my stocking were consumed :rofl
  2. Two weeks ago Tuesday a pair of support hose disappeared. I had just come home from work and had taken them off and put them on the stool. Went into the kitchen to make their dinner and thought nothing of the stockings until after dinner. Looked for them where I had placed them they were not there. As the hoolignas like to take things and throw them around I started looking on top of things, behind things, under things etc you all know this drill. Still could not find them.

Last night EZ threw up his dinner, has he is as hoover did not think too much of it but did re dose him on his seizure meds. This morning after breakfast Mr. EZ had a bowel movement and in it was a stocking. Off to the ER to get him checked out. ER checked him over, x-rayed him and I also had them do a fecal for worms as I had the bm and stocking with me. Vital were normal except his heart rate was up a little. X-ray showed nothing in small bowel but something in the stomach but the vet said it could be his breakfast. Now the problem is where is the other stocking? ER Vet told me to monitor him and watch him closely for constipitation, vomitting, etc.

    WHERE IS THE STOCKING??? :huh

Still looking for the other stocking.

  3. I was checking out the auction post and saw that he did not make it there - I went over to the GALT site and found the update and posted it with very wet eyes

These pups in their last days were loved by all near and far and they had loving care and someone with them when they crossed to The Bridge

    The Spirit Of A Greyhound

I was standing on a hillside in a field of blowing wheat,

and the spirit of a Greyhound was lying at my feet.

He looked at me with kind dark eyes, ancient wisdom shining through.

in the essence of his being, I saw the love there too.

His mind did lock upon my heart as I stood there on that day,

and he told me of this story about a place so far away.

As I stood upon that hillside in a field of blowing wheat,

in a twinkling of a second his spirit left my feet.

His tale did put my heart at ease, all my fears did fade away

about what lay ahead of me on another distant day.

"I live among God's creatures now in the heavens of your mind,

so do not grieve for me, my friend as I am with my kind.

My collar is a rainbow's hue, my leash a shooting star.

my boundaries are the Milky Way where I sparkle from afar.

There are no pens or kennels here for I am not confined,

but I'm free to roam God's heavens among the Greyhound kind.

I nap the day on a snowy cloud gentle breezes rocking me,

and dream the dreams of earthlings, and how it used to be.

The trees are full of liver treats, and tennis balls abound,

and milk bones line the walkways just waiting to be found.

    There even is a ring set up, the grass all lush and green;

and everyone who gaits around becomes the Best of Breed.

For we're all winners in this place; we have no faults, you see.

and God passes out those ribbons to each one, even me.

    I drink from waters laced with gold, my world a beauty to behold;

and wise old dogs do form my pride to amble at my very side.

At night I sleep in angel's arms, her wings protecting me,

and moonbeams dance about us as stardust falls on thee.

So when your life on earth is spent and you stand at Heaven's gate,

have no fear of loneliness-- for here, you know, I wait."

Everyone who was involved with the care of these 4 pups, who gave them tender loving care, and who was with them when they crossed the bridge my heart goes out to you. May Justice be served for these pups

  5. Update 7/31/10

Pudge's condition has deteriorated with increased seizure activity in the last 12 hours. Pudge was released from his suffering with his loving foster mom and friends by his side. Run free, Pudge, with Rachel, Martin, and Braden in green fields of clover.

  6. The more non surgical treatment the better - I would rather try medication that surgery anyday. As I said in my previous post I do have a fear on anesthesia and just heard of two greyhounds that passed away recently after a surgical procedure and we are told to be aware of anesthesia with our greys. It seems as if both procedures were minor surgery

  7. Well, as for my Jack, he had his corns (four of them!) removed a little over a month ago, and it appears they are back. :( I've been using the corn cream faithfully since a few days after his hulling, but still they returned. Poor fellow. He's limping again.

I have to take him to the vet, she told me she'll show me how to tend to them myself.

As with any medication it does not work for all. There have been good reports about this cream and I would rather try the cream than go for the surgery any day. I have a fear of anesthesia for anyone two legged or four so many things can go wrong

  8. He is left out right before I leave the house and sometimes if I am only gone for 1 hour he does his problems. No separation anxiety now he used to and do the GSOD if he could not see us. I am starting to believe it is to get even with me. I have seen him pee at least a gallon and then I have his belly band soaked with more on the floor when I come home. He can go at night from 10 pm to 6 or 7 am so I don't think it is a bladder/kidney problem.
