  2. Hi all been a while since i`ve been on GT ,just moved home, pepper has had a toe removed , it started a few weeks ago when pep tweaked his toe running damaged the nail, got infected, antibiotics, then off running again dislocated toe and snapped tendons, coupled with infection toe removal was the only option, on the plus side he has made a full recovery, and is back to his old self, now all i need to do is work out how to post pictures again and i will put some pics up of the boys .

  5. Hi ,all a few kind thoughts from the good folks on GT would be much appreciated.pepper has cut his foot, rear left, just below ankle joint,we did`nt take pep to vets,as it was a clean open wound,we are now bathing the wound, with salt warm salt water,to stop any infection, pep wont keep a dressing on and wants to lick the wound,we are giving pep probiotic yoghurt to try and boost peps immune system, any helpful tips and kind thoughts would be much appreciated.

  8. HI all,I have just had a phone call from my brother, who has a 14 year old bedlington x,who gets stiff joints, and we were wondering if there is any "over the counter medication " we could get without a visit to the vets, any info would be truely appreciated many thanks ,peter.
  9. Thank you all for your kind thoughts, the swelling seems to have to gone down, pep is walking ok,but he does struggle a little when climbing on the couch, and laying down, that apart he is in good spirits.
  10. it does lool like bleeding under the skin, the confusing thing is pep is not lame,he is running around as normal, the leg looks a little stiff, when he climbs on the couch i am wondering if pep ran into something, upon the easthill where we take our early morning walk, and it is normally in the dark
  11. here is a pic of the sore leg,i`m still none the wiser as to what it is the swelling seems to have traveled down to the hock and now to pep`s foot, and the leg is still quite red ,could it be a bruise.
  12. peps leg is still swollen, but hopefully the meds will kick in soon, and he has cut back on his chocolate,i think 330 grms is more than enough
  13. So Strange, but given, how the leg looks, pep is surprisingly active,or perhaps he is still on a sugar high from the easter egg.
  14. Hi All,just back from the vets with pepper, vet says its an infection, coupled with a temperature, the leg is swollen, and the skin is a red/purple colour like bruising .so pep is on a course of antibiotics.but all in all pep is his "normal" self, one of my daughters left an unattended easter egg so pep had a midnight feast
  15. no idea how he did it,could be something to do with the graze which looks insignificant.
  16. Hi all, a few kind thoughts would be much appreciated, please, for pepper.peps rear right leg is very swollen, looks like it could be infected,he has a slight graze, inside the leg,and the swelling seems to run down inside the leg to the hock.peps in good spirits though,so its of to the vets tomorrow.

  20. Its a tough one, that said having experienced puncture wounds with my hounds,i was told by the vet if the wounc is bigger than a fifty pence piece it would need looking at,also he said not keen on stitching dog bites, puncture wounds because of stitching the infection in (depending on the damage) all i can say is try and keep clean, discourage licking, and keep free of any hair, hope this is of some help anitbiotics, would also help.
