  1. Farewell Master, yet not farewell Where I go, ye too shall dwell. I am gone before your face, A moment's time, a little space. When ye come where I have stepped, Ye will wonder why ye wept. Bye Bodie.
  2. A bite, (spider or other nasty critters) Infection.
  3. Farewell Master yet not farewell Where I go, ye too shall dwell. I am gone before your face, A moment's time, a little space. When ye come where I have stepped, Ye will wonder why ye wept. God speed Mac.
  4. Nice thread Robin. I check another forum everyday hoping not to see a new thread started. (I'm sure everyone knows which forum that is). I would love to see lots of posts like "He's limping! Found a thorn in his paw!" Prayers for all the sick babies............
  5. Poor baby. Amber please keep us updated on the Soul-man's condition.
  6. We debated this with our vet over several long conversations when he was diagnosed a year or so ago. We decided against the tie back because he was not a prime candidate + potential complications + his normally laid back personality. Our vet's personal dog has LP and he's very experienced treating the disease both medically and surgically, so despite last night, I think we made the best decision for Grandpa. We revisited the surgery option with our vet again this morning and it's off the table for now. Thanks. I'm sorry he's not a candidate. I hope he feels better.
  7. The good thing about eggnog.....if she doesn't like it, you can still have it!
  8. Introduce her to eggnog. High calorie, high protein. It'll put weight on her quickly. Where in NJ are you? I'm in Hunterdon County. I'd love to meet you and Ember.
  9. I don't know much about Grandpa. Is he not a candidate for a tieback? My 13 yr old had a tieback 2 yrs ago and is doing terrific.
  10. Have you tried eggnog? It's out now. It's high calorie and high protein. But if she likes it, go easy. It is rich.
  11. If money is a problem for hiring a dog walker midday to help him up and down stairs then outside(using a sling), how about trading? I babysit my friends greys. no cost. They babysit my greys. no cost. Some years I make out, some years they make out ahead. It's a great deal between the two of us Can you find someone who could use you for babysitting in exchange for daily dog care? Maybe your group has ideas. Also.....I've put my dog door in the wall. They have wall sized doors. Can you put a door in somewhere upstairs or downstairs where your boy stays and then a ramp from that to outside? I'm one of those who lost a 5 and 8 yr old........
  12. My Pearl has heart disease. While caring for her they noticed her heart rate was higher than it should be (especially for a greyhound!). So she is also on digoxin. She also has hypertension. It took a trip to the cardiologist to confirm all this. However, it was a heart murmur that had our vet recommend the cardiologist. Hope it's nothing..........
  13. Gillian, I lost my Brindle to that awful disease. She seemed fine in the morning. She was gone that night. I had taken her to U of Penn. I feel for you.
  14. Pearl's outlived her prognosis from her heart disease by 2 yrs. She's on a plethura of meds. And she turns 11 this Friday. I can't be more thankful for her cardiologist and her heart and BP meds. Yes.....medicine, especially for our furkids have come a long way.
  15. My Pearl was on DES for a while. But she was also on 6 other meds for her heart and hypertension. She's always been a little finicky, but I didn't notice it worsening while on DES. I was able to take her off eventually and no incontinence. But I'd ask the vet if that's a side effect.
  16. Hey, you need a tissue warning with these posts. I'm usually at work when I read them! Good girl Polli!
  17. I work with The Dog Shrink. A trainer who specializes in problems with dogs. Here's her comment which back up what a lot of others were saying.
  18. My old lady Onyx mourns her male counterpart..............
