  4. Staple removal is usually quick and easy ... Look at that sad, sad face. Poor pupper Jennifer
  5. I tried to use it with cockroaches in SC but they seemed to just hop over the lines of it that I laid down. Scientifically and theoretically, it should work, because it degrades the cuticle (outer skin covering) of the insects and that makes them dry up and die Jennifer
  6. :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug Jennifer
  7. Please, all my dearest friends, deep breath and big Please see this edited post: "I'm very sorry to hear this, and I wish her safe and gentle passage to the NEXT thing. My apologies for upsetting anyone. I don't KNOW what happens next when someone or something dies--and I intended to say the "next thing.' I left out a word. Simple mistake. I just don't happen to use the expression "the bridge," but I guess that's what I meant, if that clears it up. Susan" Jennifer
  8. Oh, Claudia ... I'm so sad for you. Even when you know it's the right and best and most loving thing to do, it hurts so very, very bad. You and beautiful Misty will be in my thoughts and prayers Jennifer

  11. for Riley and all of you Henry, you sweet boy! Jennifer
  12. Oh, sweetie ... My 2 hedgehogs crossed the Bridge within a week of each other, and the only comfort I found was knowing, absolutely, that the one that went first was waiting with open paws to greet her best friend. And Alfalfa will do that for your dear Riley, when he's ready to go. In the meantime, whatever you decide to do for him will be what is best for him; your heart will make sure you make the right choices. I will ask the Universe for skilled hands for your husband's surgeon and anesthesia care providers. Jennifer
  13. They are easy to love; little pink feet and all Thanks, everyone Jennifer
  14. :lol I love this. Thank you everyone for your kind wishes and thoughts; you are all the best. Daisy was pretty upset last night, running from wheel to litter pan to food dish, looking and looking for her buddy ... today she's curled up next to the Beanie Baby hedgie in the snuggle bag, but I know it's just not the same for her. to all of you, Jennifer
  15. Presley was a dear little girl and she almost reached the age of 5, which is a ripe old age for an African hedgehog! Presley came to me as a rescue on February 24, 2005; a college student bought her for her mother as a Mother's Day gift, even though her mother had never expressed any interest in hedgehogs. Once in the house, Mom realized that Presley's little pink feet "creeped her out" and she would not care for her. The college student took good care of her, but realized that her life was too busy to give Presley the attention she deserved. She found my rescue site at www.hedgehogwelfare.org and contacted me. I picked Presley up and arranged for her to go to a new home in Iowa; but the people there wanted "a baby" and Presley was already a year old. So, happily, she stayed with me. Her little pink feet and sweet shy smile were her best features; after she was spayed she became quite zaftig and couldn't completely roll up - thus her cute feet and smile were available for all to see. Presley developed lymphoma and although she fought bravely, she finally reached a point where life was too much of a struggle and was helped across the Bridge. She leaves behind her best friend and snuggle buddy, Daisy Hedgehog, and takes with her a big piece of my heart. Fun fast and free and catch the rainbow mealworms, sweetie pea; I'll miss you. Your Mom, Jennifer
