Looking for good news!

If he's spent any time in AZ, definitely test for VF.
Totally agree. Let us know how the Vet visit today goes....
-
I am not sure how old he is.. but something about the way his back end is dropping reminds me of Quinn when his LS was getting bad... I would definitely be looking for some kind of nerve problem in his "lower" back.
My thoughts exactly. Look at the way his back end drops & he is snapping at something. I think there is a nerve being compressed back there.

I use NILF every day. Makes a huge difference in your relationship with your hound.
-
He was your "once in a lifetime hound", as Nevada was mine. I think they will enjoy each others company until we can join them again.

Lots of good veggies...
-
So does sweet potato.

Sounds like something neurological with his back end. Hope things turn out ok...

Trolley is a VERY early riser. Often it's go pee. Other times it's just because she wants me up! We're still working on that subject....

The coyote may be the issue. A friends Bassett hound refuses to go on walks because of the coyote's around her neighborhood. She will walk about a block & then practically drags her home. No advice on how to solve the issue. My friend has not been able to.

Does he have separation anxiety?

I really didn't teach Trolley....she trained me. She runs back & forth from me to the door until I let her out. If it's during the night, she goes to the door & rattles the blinds. Maybe start asking "want to go out?" and see how he responds.

I use the Wiggles & Wags harness for Trolley. She's very shy & tends to start backing up when she gets nervous. I bought the training leash for the harness & it attaches to both the collar & harness. I feel more secure walking her now..

Yes...Cushings can get scary, but it's a treatable disease. Just gets a little tricky sometimes. Nevada was happy & healthy for several years. Remember that this is a disease of older dogs, so other health issues will play a role in picture. Nevada was 15.5 when she passed.

Many Vets will intentionally make a dog Addisonian. It's easier to treat/manage. If I had to do it over again, that is what I would do.

Hi Frannie....My bridge baby Nevada had Cushings disease & did well for several years. Do a search on here & you will see lots of good info from our previous posts. I'd post more, but I'm at work right now.

Interesting idea. I've toyed with the idea of going vegetarian for several years, because I'm just not liking meat much anymore & hate the thoughts of killing things. I'll be curious about how it all works out.

So sorry Diane.....
-
Sounds like a shift in pack order is taking place....
-
Awww...so sorry. He was such a sweet soul....
-
Hope you both are enjoying the days...

VERY cute little girl!

Trolley has been learning manners too....I call her my little steamroller!

Try putting a blanket over the top of the crate-maybe he will sleep longer.
Accidents When Getting Up

I suspect that there is some LS going on. Not much you can do. I think if you just don't make a big deal out of it she may get over her. Nevada use to get upset when she had a pee accident, but eventually got over it as she aged.
