Trolley did this & she is now banned from the bed when I am in it. That's MY territory & she has learned to respect that. I suggest NILIF-works wonders!

Trolley has BAD breath. Her teeth are great though. I feed Kirkland & use CET chews. Just bought the CET rinse to see if that helps.

Thinking of Fletcher today. I see ice cream in his future!

OMG....that is too funny! Trolley just discovered "the other dog" in my bedroom mirror. A little growl & off to play again...

Trolley is 2. She's a very busy little girl. Fortunately she likes her crate & I've made it a safe, enjoyable place for her. She's go,go,go then sleeeeeeppppp! How about getting a lure pole?

Thanks for posting this.I had a surprise yesterday at the dog park with Frankie, who I've had for 4 months. He has been such a sweet laid back guy.
There were quite a few other dogs there and he grabbed a canvas frisbee type toy that an owner was throwing for her aussie. I've never seen him actually pick up any ball or toy at the park, he just chases the other dogs around or tries to get chased. I found him at the far corner of the dog park trying to shred the toy. I walked up to him and said I wanted the toy back...well he growled at me!! He's never growled at me, I was shocked! I firmly took him by the collar and told him NO, BAD DOG! and pulled him away from the toy, then took it back to the owner.
Any thoughts on this?
Don't be shocked. That's about the time when they are getting very comfortable in your home & may begin to test the boundaries. I've had Trolley about the same amount of time & she has tested me twice so far....Guess who won the discussion?? You might consider reading about NILIF. It has brought us much closer & Trolley very clearly knows what is expected of her. It changes your relationship...for the better.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My father suffers from the same horrible disease. I know how you feel when you say that you are grateful that her struggle is over. With Alzheimer's disease we loose them one moment at a time. It's a very cruel disease.

I had tears in my eyes as I read this today! So glad that everything went well. Hugs to you all!

I agree with Batmom. I did the time transition thing with Trolley & now she's a real trouper with holding it all day. Just takes a few weeks.

I've ordered many things from Drs Smith & Foster. Great customer service & quick delivery.

I use the word "easy" & Trolley seems to understand. She takes treats very gently from my hand. I also use that word when we are rough-house playing & she gets too enthusiastic.

I think it has something to do with the poop having bits of food in it too...

My Vet recommends chicken soup to get pups to start eating. Good thought to Ace.

Trolley is a poop eater only when she has the Big D. Ewwww....just ewwww..!!!!

I saw on "It's Me or the Dog" that you can supposedly feed them pineapple and it makes their poop taste bad. Can't imagine that it tastes good...but, obviously SOMEONE thinks so?!?!
I don't know if anyone here has tried it....but, it might be worth a shot.
Fresh or canned pineapple?

I'm so saddened by your loss. I hope that you can find peace.

I don't know of one myself, but PM Jan (Remolacha). I believe that she knows of a few. I'd call her, but I lost her phone number.

Awww..Give Miss Lucy a kiss on that sweet nose for me!

Thank goodness!

I'm sorry. She will have lots of our angels to meet her there.....

Hoping that it's contained just to the tail & can be controlled with the amputation.

What a beautiful tribute to a Happy girl! I'm so sorry for your pain....

I did DNA testing on Nevada. She looked totally GH, but was unknown heritage. I used Metamorphix. She came back a GH/Whippett cross. Just as my Vet suspected.

I had a cushings pup also......my Vet always told me that an addisons pup is much easier to treat.
Bone Aggression

I've been having the same resource guarding issue with Trolley. It only happens with marrow bones. She has learned to "drop it" and does so immediately if she is told to. If she growls at me, she has to immediately drop the bone & it goes in the trash. She is learning that I give good things & I can take them away. We're still working on it-I think she'll eventually get it.
