Hope I am so sorry. I know how excited you were to bring him home. He knew love, he knew yours and Sarahs love.

Oh Lin - I will be thinking of your girl today. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
-
Congrats! I think it is a beautiful picture.
-
She is gorgeous! Welcome from us in Plano, Texas. I love the Santa Fe area, my father lives in Espanola and raises Morgan horses.
-
I'm surprised that the vet didn't want to stitch it back if it was hanging off? But a picture would definately help us to understand what it is. I would say if it is just a small flap then it is ok to lay it closed.

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope that you are doing well. You have been such a great friend to me and I hope that you know how much I appreciate it.

My older lab had some of those. They were fatty growths. Sometimes they filled with fluid and would rupture then heal on their own and other times they would dry up and turn black or scabby and fall off. My vet was never worried about them either. The lab lived to be 13... just had a lot of fatty tumors.

Lin! I am so sorry, I will keep you in my thoughts. Hope to see you both soon.

Well, I remember when you first came on for information but Welcome again from Plano Texas! Farrah is a cutie. In agility it is common to find whippet mixes. I have seen other whippet/border collie mixes and also whippet/JRT mixes. Good Luck to you!

Adorable! Congrats!

How Cute! I love the stripey down his face.

It is a bit greasy... if you have slick floors you'll want to put booties on her.
-
She has the same coloring as Victor, but she is the sister to CTW Well Defined, aka Fin, that arrived from Teddy a few weeks ago.
Congrats she is a beautiful gal!
It's so funny to see that she has FULL siblings born two years apart! I'd love to see pics if you have them...

MAUDIE!! (soon to be Madi ) I saw Maudie on the GALT website in the middle of December. I fell in love... then, someone posted her info here on GT and I panicked. I couldn't let someone else get MY girl I applied for her in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve. It took a few days and in between I had looked at a few other dogs that really appealed to me. There was a shy, male that I really wanted to bring home but he ended up going to another group and then I started thinking about a puppy Well, I finally got the call that I was approved and that I could bring her home after her last bandage change and spay.
Her last bandage change was on Monday, the 19th and she looks great! Her spay was today and she sailed right through. The foster is going to keep her during her healing and bring her to my house on Feb. 5th!!! I am soo excited to have this girl come home with me, Isis, and Carmen. The foster mom is going to bring her over to the house this Sunday and introduce Carmen and Isis to her. She is a shy, quiet girl. When she is nervous she tucks her tail all the way between her legs and can almost lay it flat against her tummy. She really doesn't have a crook in it Last week I took my kiddos to meet her at the foster home and we ended up there for two hours! She is smaller than Isis, probably around 50#. Isis is only 58#. So, more pictures to come

I hope pepper starts feeling better and the wound heals.

Did she get her cheeseburger?
Apparantly McDonalds doesn't sell cheeseburgers befor 10am... so she got a sausage bisquit, as did Carmen The vet, McDonalds and my house are all within 3 miles of each other.

Well, we are back. Isis walked in like nothing was wrong. Dr. Staph looked her over again and said that he really feels that it is just a soft tissue injury. His new xray was not done being installed so no radiographs today but he went ahead and put her on previcox once a day for 7 days and just wants her to rest (ie... no zoomies at 4am ) She will be leash walked for about a week, then he is going to check her again. At the end of the visit Dr. Staph said "now go get the girl a cheeseburger and call it a day!" So we are back home and I am getting ready to go to work.
Carmen was so upset about not getting to go with us She left nail marks all over my garage door. Poor thing... I brought her back a treat too

We are headed out the door on the way to the vet. At 4am this morning she was feeling great... she wanted out and so we go to the back door and off she went, she did zoomies and was barking up a storm I think she overdid it tho as now she is holding up her leg. Anyway, I geuss we will be going out on a leash for a few days so that she doesn't keep doing that. I will update when we are done. Thanks everyone!

Vet checked her over and said there is definately not a break. However, they are getting a new xray today and so couldn't take any pictures. We are scheduled to go in first thing tomorrow. He said that it could just be a muscle strain but to continue the rimadyl if she seemed like she was in pain. She is doing well tho... wagged her tail and let everyone who would come and pet her. I slept with her on the couch last night and she never moved. Thank you everyone. I will let you know as soon as I know something. She is still limping on it, she even tried to do the stairs (I didn't let her). When we got to the car I was about to bend down and pick her up and she jumped in anyway.
-
I just took her outside. She sorta uses the leg like a "peg leg". That's the best that I can describe it. I didn't let her attempt the stairs, I just carried her and then let her down once we got down stairs. She walked herself out and did her business then came in and got up on her little love seat downstairs that she sleeps on. The only cry was when I sat beside her and ran my hand over the muscle of her shoulder. It doesn't look swollen or bruised at this point. But I did have a rimadyl pain pill from some other time and I gave that to her for the evening. I will let you all know what comes of the visit in the morning. Thanks.

So this will probably not be what most would do but she is not in crisis. In fact she is laying her right beside me with her head and her legs in my lap. I am having to type with my arms on top of her head. If for some reason she seems to get worse or if she acts different than I will take her in. However, my vet is very close and a friend. She will get the best care and I won't be neglecting her. She has eaten, in fact stole some chicken off my plate earlier. I am about to get up and let everyone out one last time. I will carry her and watch her in the yard.
Godspeed, Nadia

Oh Lin, I am so very, very sorry. I remember you telling me about your girl and how you thought Isis looked like her. I will be thinking of you. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
