  7. I am so very sorry. I followed this and thought about him every day.
  8. I understand all my GHs. There are times that they will give me a look or a sigh or a position and I will say to DH... "Chloe" needs whatever it is at the time she needs or T needs to Beau needs, etc and he will say to me, how did you know that. I feel very connected to them.
  9. And we are so happy for you and Wilbur. Baby steps!
  10. I am so sorry. So young, so unfair.
  11. We had our others to keep us going after we lost Polli. Also knowing there were so many out there waiting made my decision to adopt easy. I still miss Polli some days are worse than others, but having the others surely helps.

  15. Depends on the racing weight too. I used to think that Teddy was a big boy- he raced at 72 (now 83 and lean) compared to Beau's racing weight of 62 (still 64) but then we adopted Ollie who raced at 84- he will be a 90 pound boy!
  16. Ollie was our recent neuter. Other than a couple of stitches- there was absolutely no way of telling he had it done. He never licked or had any discomfort and was given nothing afterward. Our vet does keep them overnight though. Only greyhounds stay overnight after spay or neuter.
  17. Welcome from LI- to learn about our greyhounds, feel free to dive right into the forums! You will learn about us too, vicariously through our hounds!!!!
  18. For pain management I know there is more than just tramadol and deramax but I don't know what it is as we did amp the first time around. But for the amp it was 100mg of deramaxx and 100 mg of tramadol every 4- 6 hours. Hoping your baby is pain free.
  19. My Polli had osteo of the left front leg. We she was 9.5 at the time and a real spit fire. We had no option of pain management as she had tripped and broke her leg. It had to be amputated or say goodbye which was not an option at that point. We did the ampuation and 5 rounds of chemo. We got 5 good months before the cancer had spread- less the 1 week after each chemo that threw her threw a loop. So in all actuality between the healing after the amp which took 3 weeks and the chemo (= 8 weeks) - we did not get nearly the amount of time we had prayed for. IF we had the option for pain management- We may have had the same amount of time with less trauma. But if is the largest word in the english language. Wishing you the best outcome in whatever decision you make. Prayers for your baby.
