  5. I was just at the Costco website looking at the dog beds and came across this: Dog Joint Supplements I was wondering how their ingredients measure up....would this be a good purchase or is it lacking ingredients that some other (maybe better) dog glucosamine ingredients have?
  6. I have no advice but hope you get to the bottom of Bonnie's problem....it sounds like it must be very painful
  7. Yep, that is the same one my girl dislocated also...except it didn't bend under her foot it went out to the side. It hasn't happened in years just the several times one summer. Whew, $1000.00!
  8. Tessie must have REALLY dislocated her toe because this happened several times to my girl and all I had to do was move it a tiny bit and it popped back in....and she never showed any signs of pain. Maybe it matters which toe...my girls was the little toe or outside toe.

  14. That must be pretty scarey to see your guys slipping and sliding. Can you build a long ramp over the back steps? With indoor outdoor carpet on it? Or put indoor out door carpet on the steps? If I were you I would be buying a lot of rubber backed rugs and runners for the wood laminate floors (if they get dirty you can wash them). When I moved to my new place the kitchen and diningroom connected and had very nice vinyl flooring but there was just too much sliding going on that I now put almost wall to wall carpet down. Hope this helps.
  15. Through tears I am sending you this heartfelt message that I am so sorry for your loss of Starry....I can only hope that Gypsy may ease your pain a little as you two begin your journey together
  16. Thanks for the info....I have a call into a new vet with a ton of grey experience recco by one of our local grey rescues. Hope was very frisky today, the weather is much cooler and we walked more than we have been. Later, when it was time to get up to eat she really had a hard time getting up Hopefully we can get an appointment real soon.
  17. Oh my word! Hoping for a speedy recovery.
  18. I have been reading the posts here about LS and read Dr. Stack's informatoin. But I have a few more questions about LS. My 12 yr 11 month girl has been showing the beginning of weakness in her hind legs as described in Stack's information. I can tell she is sensitive to touch when brushing and scratching the top of her hind end. My questions is should I be going to the vet to inquire about the Depo Medrol injections yet or is that used when the case gets severe? She does take glucousamine supplements but I wonder if that even touches the affects of LS? I realize she is getting up in age but she is otherwise living life with gusto.....I don't want her to be in any pain. From what I read here other anti imflammatories may not touch the pain of LS or I would try those first, I suppose?? How long can they get Depo Medrol injections? My cat used to get Depo injections (if it is the same) for allergies and the effects lasted several months and the vet warned that it is not something that can be given often. If we start her (the grey) on Depo Injections what can we expect in terms of length of effectiveness.
  19. I'm so sorry for your loss.
