  1. We currently have him on Taste of the Wild High Prairie. It does so-so for him. I had decided to try to transition him to Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice, but got instant soup. PLUS we are going out of town for the weekend, so I switched back to TOTW so my neighbor won't have so much soup to deal with. I think I will try the Purina Proplan Sensitive skin/stomach salmon. That kind of sums him up. I have shied away from it so far because I have heard controversial things about Fish flavored foods and questionable sources of fish. The Timberwolf organics is a little too rich for my wallet. I'll keep an eye on the sores, but I think they are a one time thing when he was really itchy from all the shedding. He's also new to us and all 3 of mine have blown their coats when they came to live here. Maybe he's allergic to cats...
  2. We already have liquid poop. I don't use any oil because of that. I'm not worried about the sores. They are small, and scabbed over and healing. At first I thought he had a tick, that is the size. Is there anything topical I can use?
  3. When we got Bam Bam in December we noticed he had some flaky skin. We thought a change of food might help that, and switched him to Canidae Lamb and Rice that the girls ate. His belly didn't tolerate that, and that began the parade of kibble that doesn't seem to agree with him. Off we went to the vet for testing, and everything was negative. We wormed with Panacur just in case. We use Advantage Multi for HW and fleas. All 3 dogs have shed their winter coats, and Bam Bam has developed some scabby sores alone his back. His fur is pretty thin along his back too. He likes to rub his back along my bed and itch it. Today I noticed that the flakes are REALLY bad. Big and flaky. When I pulled the hair back I see that the skin is a big flake, and my hand was left with a powdery residue. He did have a bath a couple of weeks ago, at the adoption kennel. What to do? Is it diet? Allergy? How can I get rid of the flakes?
  4. Congratulations, until you get tired of her. Then you can just kick her out like her last owner did.
  5. It's the sunshine therapy! Glad she's feeling better!
  6. Your tribute to Mattie is wonderful. I know you must miss her terribly. I'm sorry for your loss. Run free, sweet Mattie
  7. Yay for Dude!!! I was so happy to read your happy news!!! Keep up the good work and get strong for your Mommy!
  8. I'm so sorry for your loss. Run pain free sweet Chance
  9. Hi there and Welcome to GT from Jacksonville!
  10. Yep. We wanted to make sure he wasn't a cat eater, and also to make sure he fit in with the girls. I wasn't looking for the type of fit that he had in mind! Right now, Mimi is NOT a happy camper. She is very routine and her applecart is definitely upset. Mimosa is doing fine, except for when he came over to investigate HIS new bed that she was sleeping in!
  11. Today we picked up our new "foster" boy, Bam Bam (racing name Deco Barnett). He was a B&J Racer that broke his hock and retired. He turned 2 on November 11th. He met his new sisters, Mimosa and Mimi today and he REALLY likes Mimi, and not in a sisterly way! He was just neutered on Tuesday, so things have been very interesting around here! DD, Allison, age 8, got a lesson in Dog Breeding 101 today. Hopefully those hormones will disappear soon and they can get along like siblings. I was worried how he would be with the cats (I have 3 boys), but they are all pretty fearless around dogs and walked right up to him. We had him muzzled for about an hour around them, but he showed no cat-eating tendencies, so that part is great! Here he is at the farm He's a leaner The first walk with all 3. Mimi on left, Bam Bam in middle, Mimosa on right. He makes the girls look so small, and Mimi is a big girl at 72 pounds! Hi Mama Caffie! I'm home!
  12. That must've been overseas. Mine were $7 or $8 each to ship, and one was cross country.
  13. Beautiful girls! Welcome to Greytalk!
  14. Glad Bitsy liked the gifts! The collar looks great on her. I hope it coordinates with her harness!

    Tigger

    I know how you feel.
  16. OH no! I'm so sorry. All hail the Queen in heaven.
  17. I got a package today. It is a little white package from Northcoast Greyhounds (that's what Mom said). She's making me wait until CHRISTMAS to open it!!! Can you believe it?? Hmmph! No Fair!!! She said it's a special gift that needs to wait until Christmas, so I don't ruin it before then! What's really not fair is that when she thought I wasn't looking she PEEKED at it and she knows what it is!!!! Such injustice! But anyway, thank you Aerosmom, Aero, Kanga Roo and Cricket, for the very nice box...... Mimi
