Only A Picture On A Rescue Site

Recommended Posts

He was only a photo. A face without a name, just a breed Greyhound X.. So I called him 'Lord Jake' He was due to be PTS so I tried to rally round people that were in the area where he was, Ohio. We all hoped that he would be freed soon.

Today however he was. But not how we all had hoped.

Run Free Jakeling

Someone will be there to greet you.

Hug your hounds today

I am so sorry, I think we all are feeling this today. Clare, you cared enough to give him a name. I hope he knows that, actually I am sure he knows that. He's no longer alone.

I don't think I've ever cried so much about a dog I never met. Run free, little fella. :gh_runner

I'm sorry to hear that time had run out for you sweet boy. There were several people who cared that didn't even know you. You were a face without a name, a hound without a home.

You are home now sweet boy. Run free

I'm so sorry we weren't able to help you Lord Jake! Run free and have a great time playing at the bridge. Someday we will all meet again. Know that you were loved by a lot of people & many people are mourning your untimely passing.

So sorry the "civilized" humans failed you and the ones that cared were alerted too late. God speed. :gh_run

Edited to add when I posted I was feeling :angryfire that they euthanized before the 23 and he could have been saved. I feel it hurts them too when they do what they do, but again, it was done earlier than scheduled.

Tears here too. Hopefully the shelter now has the phone # of local Greyhound rescue to avoid the same tragedy being repeated. We transported a Grey who was turned into the local shelter back to the adoption agency and thought this was routine policy.I'm so sorry....Sara
