Yes, thanks for the pic, Deb. Hoping that a different environment with someone more experienced with greys, and perhaps with other pups, is what Ami needs to be a happier, better adjusted pup.

Do you all think it would be best to return her? She's so much work and I'm often scared of her.

Yes . I'm a trainer, for what it's worth. I say return her. It's not the end of the world even if you never have another dog. Greyhounds are not the "doggiest" breed going and you may be happy with a softer breed. God knows there are lots of other little souls waiting for a parent. Maybe you'll come back to hounds that way some day, and maybe you won't. But what I'd like to say is that, clearly, any dog would be lucky to have you. You "read" like a super-good dog person to me. Return the dog, she'll be fine; heal up a bit cause it's been rough, and then just float - your heart'll figure it out for you. (you don't need to stop reading gt either)

That is such great news! I am so happy that Ami is okay and being evaluated. She looks great.

There are always 3 sides to every story...we only heard one. I wasn't going to respond, but without knowing the OP, perhaps encouraging her to adopt another greyhound isn't in anyone's best interests. The adoption group is in the best position to judge this, not us who have never met the OP.

Ami is doing greyt in her foster home (update on fb) and that's all that really matters. We know greyhound people are the best and respond to posts with good intentions. But I sense the group is still perceived as the "bad guy" in this situation and that may not be true at all. jmho

Despite my earlier comments, your first report back after speaking to the adoption group put my mind to rest. Others have hinted around this, but I'll be blunt and say I think we may have been played just a little, and not by the adoption group. (Love the reference to three sides to every story (Babylon 5 - Kosh's reference to a "three-edged sword"?): my side, your side and the truth. LOL!)

Sharon, Loki, Freyja, Capri (bridge angel and most beloved heart dog), Ajax (bridge angel) and Sweetie Pie (cat)

I don't think any of us here can say whether, how, what, or by whom miscommunication might have occurred. Sometimes things happen even when everyone means well. :)

The important things are, Amis_Ma is safe, Ami is safe, and the group is caring for the dog. :)
