winnie
One year ago today (December 1) our Faye Oops crossed the bridge. We only had her for 1.5 years, but her big personality made a big impact on our lives. Faye Oops was my "heart dog." I hate that osteosarcoma took her away from us. Tribute video made by Faye Oops former family. They had her for 7 years, but had to return her due to divorce, etc. Faye Oops was a lucky dog to be loved by two families. winnie
This week artist Xan Blackburn completed this portrait of our greyhound Darcy. I call Darcy my "heart healer" because she really stepped-up and bonded with me following Faye Oops death. Each of our greyhounds has a "signature" color. I told Xan that Darcy's color was purple. Xan chose to use blue in the background of this painting. What Xan didn't know was that blue was Faye Oops color. I know it's a sign that Faye Oops is still with us and wants Darcy to continue to take care of her mama. Batmom
That is a neat coincidence for Darcy's beautiful painting. Faye Oops was a very special girl, wasn't she? I love the picture of the two of you together. Rest well, sweet pea. winnie
My DH and our greyhound Celeste - who was Faye Oops BFF - volunteered at our groups adoption today. Celeste was the "demo dog" used to show the adoptive families how to care for their new dog. Six new dogs went to famlies today. It was a wonderful way to honor Faye Oops memory.
