tornadosgirl
If anyone has any ideas on what Finn is doing in this video, I would appreciate it. He had just eaten about five minutes before, when he started moving his tongue around a lot and flipping his head up. Not sure what to make of it. Perhaps something was caught in his throat?? Please excuse my husband talking in this. I had called him into the room, cause at first I thought Finn was choking, but he wasn't. His breathing was fine. Shortly after the video ends, he stopped the "behavior" and was his "normal" self.
Guest DragonflyDM
Boomer does this, sort of. I always think he has stolen something he shouldn’t be eating and nothing is there.
OwnedBySummer
Whenever any of my dogs have ever done anything similar, there's been something jammed between their outer gum and lip, wedged way down (or up, depending if it's upper or lower jaw). Guest Greytluv
I have no idea but he sure is cute
Dawnnziggy
Ziggy does this a lot. He gets grass stuck in his mouth, way in the back. He's always fine later.
Guest sweetpea
Sweetpea will do this, when she's got a bit of her morning cracker caught in her cheek waaaaaaay back behind her teeth. I usually just slide the cracker bit forward (from the outside) until she can catch it in her teeth. Next time he does this, put your hand on both sides of his face, see if you can feel any kibbles stored in his cheek pouches. Buzzy
Guest Roadtripper
Agree with others--looks like something is caught in his teeth, stuck to the roof of his mouth, or in between gums & cheek. Also agree--it's really, really cute.
Guest SusanP
When that happens to mine, I usually just swipe a finger along their gumline to dislodge whatever is stuck there.
DesiRayMom
I agree.....looks like he's got a piece of something in a cheek pouch, or stuck between his teeth. He can feel it there....trying to get it loose & down to his tummy where it belongs. Quote Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog. tornadosgirl
Thanks everybody. I tend to panic, but once I knew he wasn't choking, then I couldn't figure out what he was doing. But your responses make sense. And ya, he is a cute, goofy guy.
onrushpam
Yep... our Donald is terrible about munching on dirt out in the yard! He gets little "mud balls" stuck and does this. kronckew
millie does similar to that, kibble chunk stuck back in the cheek-pouch area. besides the head manoeuvres, she comes to me so i can push it forward from the outside so she can swallow it. don't even need to poke my finger inside her mouth.
