Jeff
If you see a 403 error message, our spam filter has identified you for some reason. If you see a 503 error message, our spam filter has banned you for some reason. while there are things that will instantly throw a 503, it usually comes from receiving (3) 403 messages in 24 hours. If you get a 403, do not hit reload/refresh. Copy the entire text from the 403 page, then go back to the main Greytalk page, and open a support ticket, and paste the text into it. I updated the spam signatures last night, so there have been some growing pains with this. Some legit users have accidently been blocked or banned. Hi Jeff, I couldn't get into the forum to get to the help desk or see this announcement until today b/c of the scary 403. I found out last night on the Greytalk Facebook page that this was an issue. For some reason I got in this AM with no issues. Maybe the growing pains are over.
andyjg13
I get this error (503) quite a bit when I access from my work computer. It's a Navy computer on the NMCI network, so that may be why. Usually I just hit refresh and it works most of the time. Sorcha
I got the 403 message on my computer at work today while on lunch break, first time it's happened. I can't get to the main page to copy & paste the message into a support ticket as you instructed. I am using iPad to access Greytalk instead of my work computer. Jeff
Check to see if your IP address is listed here http://www.stopforumspam.com/search (note it must be the IP of the blocked PC, not the working one) You can see your IP address here http://www.whatismyip.com/ If it is listed on that first link, click CONTACT and then REMOVAL and follow the directions to have it unblocked from that spam site. Within 24 hours after it is removed from that spam site, you should be able to access GT again.
Neighsayer
My address was not found on that link. I never got a 403 message... Just 503 and no more access. It's been around five days now. I think the print keeps getting smaller on my phone.
Jeff
open a ticket with the IP address and I'll look into it. I will be traveling Tues-Fri so I won't be able to do it then, if you get it in tonight, I'll take a look.
ozgirl2
Got this at my weekend job (I was there on Wed.) and thought it had to do with their update to that computer! I tried (I think 3 times) to access - never got a 503 so maybe, just maybe, it'll come up OK on Friday. If not, I'll copy the text & do a ticket... Brindles
Thanks for this. I get the 403 logged to honeypot error ALL the time on my phone, usually when I reload GT more than twice. Burpdog
Why, all of a sudden would I get this using IE? (which is what I always use at work and at home to access GT) This meaning a 403 error I already tried twice so I don't want to try again. Or should I so I can copy & paste? Jeff
because I updated the spam signatures yesterday. I have reverted those changes, and cleared the restrictions. There were several people blocked that I know of, and a few tickets were opened. I need you to follow through with the instructions in the ticket, so I can look for the problem. if not, you will be blocked again when I put the changes back in.
