shel0306
Uggh, that is not what I wanted to hear. I am so sorry. Cairo is so lucky to have you, give him a big hug from Ryan and I.
Guest makenna25
Cairo is doing pretty good. He ate like a horse yesterday! I know a lot of that is from the steroids, but it still made me happy. He has become a meat snob, meaning all he really wants is meat, so that's what I mostly give him. He is also going to get a short walk to day since it is so nice out. He has been able to hang out on our 3 season porch, his favorite place for sun bathing! We will just keep enjoying the moments!!

silverfish
... He just isn't our happy boy. We hope maybe some steroids will give him a boost, but we want to make sure we aren't prolonging the suffering. It's so, so hard, and we are looking into all our options, but need to choose what's best for our boy. We are so heart broken, but wouldn't trade one minute with him! So, I guess that's all for now. We have given him the best life we could, and will continue to do so, as long as we can. We are in the same place right now, with Jack in the hospital, not knowing if he can improve enough to come home or if we must say goodbye. You're right, it is so hard. But we feel the same, we don't want to prolong his suffering, while at the same time. we want to make sure we do all we can and have him with us as long as he can get some quality of life back. I really and truly feel for you. It's a very tough place to be in. But the bottom line is that we must be strong for our sweethearts and make the right decisions for them. I'm so sorry to hear Cairo's diagnosis. It's good to hear that he's perked up and is eating again, and I pray that the vet will be able to keep him comfortable for a long while yet, so you can continue to spoil him rotten and enjoy the priceless gift of his company. Guest makenna25
Nothing new to report... Cairo is hanging in there and loving bologna, chuck roast and short walks!! The steroids have definitely helped him stabilize, especially with his weight. So, we continue to enjoy each day!! He even rooed the other day! (with a little prompting, but he did it none the less!)
