Guest BiancasMom Posted November 20, 2008 Share Posted November 20, 2008 OMG, OMG! Stormy's chemo (adriamycin) was Friday, and he hasn't eaten a meal since Friday night! We have tried everything, and more. He won't touch any of my usual standbys - baby food, Batmom's Meatloaf, Vanilla Ensure, scrambled eggs, rotisserie chicken - the only thing he has eaten in the last 24 hours is a Frosty Paws! I am going to call the Oncology Center and see if we can try (cerenia?) but am really, really staring to panic. He seems so tired. I have had good luck with Mirtazapine. It is used as an appetite stimulant in dogs and cats although I believe it is an antidepressant in people. Usually is is just one tablet once a day for a large dog (must be prescription from your vet). Not sure what other meds your grey is on but usually they advise to not give it while on Tramadol. As for food, maybe try some smelly tuna? The cerenia should help but there is also an injection they give Chemo patients called Anzemet that is supposed to help with the chemo upset tummy. I have also had luck with trying different canned cat foods, they are usually more smelly than the dog food. Maybe hot dogs? Good Luck!
