RobinM Posted November 3, 2008 Share Posted November 3, 2008 My vet was unable to use the chemo that came from OSU. It was premixed. Premixed chemo (according to the packets and everywhere online) clearly states that once the chemo is mixed, it must be used within 8 hours. They recieved this on Friday. My vet will be sending it back to OSU and we will use my vets (same protocol) and pay out of pocket for it. I need to make Dr. Couto aware that this happened as Polli's study with OSU will not be correct. I know his emails get answered by others, is there a direct email that he will personally get? Thanks. Was yours premixed too? According to my vet and all info online clearly states it should be discarded. We are a bit surprised, I'm sure it was just an oversight this time. I emailed Dr. Couto. Guest Vinnie Posted November 3, 2008 Share Posted November 3, 2008 When we got the chemo for Vinnie from OSU it was not premixed - they did not mix until we actually got there with Vinnie - part of the reason that we would go in before 7:30am and he was not done until after 11:30am each time. This way they did not mix ahead and then have the patient not show up. I am sure it was just an oversight. Is Polli still doing the chemo today with the one they are mixing?
