sSince coming here, Ive read lots of stuff about a famous Dr from OSU. Some people has had their vet consult him, and Ive seen sugstions of Xrays being sent to him.

If I ever needed to cross that bridge, how would I go about this? (I'm a huge planner, so I like to stay ahead of the game)

Well, we are actually going to a specialist about our girlie's toe on Monday, so I may have to consult somebody...

I sent an email from this page, basically a cold "call" and received an email from Dr. Paulo Vilar about 4 hours later. They offered to review Carl's eye records an consult with his eye vet, all in one email. They are a Godsend.

I'm glad this topic was opened. I have been wondering the same thing and have copied down all the information. If the situation should arise, I will be upset and distracted - it's good to have it ready and at hand so we can quickly contact them. I have also printed out the brochure with the information for my vet. She is a firm believer in contacting the experts on specialized cases. Thanks so much for printing the links & contact info.

Thank you for that information--I have long wondered how this one poor, overworked vet could get any of his own practice done if he spent all his time answering emails from Greytalkers! I am *delighted* to know that there's an actual program in place, which explains everything!!

OSU's GHWP team will contact any vet or owner in regards to a racing greyhound. Although, I do know Dr Couto has consulted on other sitehounds too. :D

The program is there for us. That is why I keep saying that we need to be there for them and support the Greyhound Health and Wellness Program financially. The program does not get financial support from the university as it is breed specific, it is funded privately through programs like Hope for Hounds.

We do ongoing work for GHWP, not just the Miss Nellie Auction. If you need info about Hope for Hounds, the link is above my siggie.
