Guest EmilyAnne
I had a dog turn blind from diabetes. It happened slowly and in both eyes. He showed other symptoms first. Such as *extreme* thirst. I know the vet may not be anticipating this, but I wonder if switching the arthritis meds might even help with the bad eye? You never know, it just may be connected. Medical science works in weird ways, and much of it is still a mystery. There's also Metacam to consider. Lots of medicine options!
Patsy
OK! Good news so far . . . . and returning to changing for bloodwork results. Quote Patsy and DH with the Humane Society specials, Linus & Jazz, in North Dakota
Fudge
OK, report on the bloodwork is back the vet said everything looks fine except a little kidney elevation (even for a greyhound) creatinine 1.89 but for her age nothing real scary there yet. Still, nothing can be attributed to her eye sight loss (which by the way seems better) Hopey had to be treated for Hookworms as Zoe found that she had them yesterday. And, then next week we will try a new anti-imflammatory since I feel the panting is caused by the Deramaxx.
Guest greytexplorer
Well at least Hopie has ONE good eye! I had a cat that went blind. I just kept her in the house; she did fine, I was the freaked-out one! Mandy is 10yrs old and has arthritic pain. I give her 1/2 tablet daily of previcox. She still runs zoomies

Is that like Celebrex? A COX-2 inhibitor of some kind? I take Celebrex myself so I can keep up with Hopey
Guest EmilyAnne
I am glad Hopie's eye sight is doing better. It's frusturating that so much of medical science is a mystery, I know the feeling.
