Guest ladyann Posted August 15, 2007 Share Posted August 15, 2007 I am a new owner of a retired greyhound who came originally from Ireland. Her racing name is Navajo but I changed it to Lady - a better "girly" name for a 6 yr old beautiful blue hound I think. She was originally rescued from Ireland by a Spanish rescue group named Scooby. They brought her to Spain, did some surgery on her leg, fixed up some other parts, fed her a bit, and sent her off to America with her Spanish pet passport all stamped and official and everything.. She landed in Massachusetts at the local greyhound rescue home kinda like the Pilgrims.. What can I say.. when I walked in looking to adopt it was love at first sight! She's learning how to navigate life in the city like walking down stairs, waiting in line for everything, peeing in the right places, looking both ways before crossing the street, and how to make friends with non-greyhound dogs. There are great dog parks here where she occasionally puts on a running clinic for the local dogs who think she's just another hound.
