Iknow all you g'ters out there have a lot of experiance and i would be glad of any insight you might have as to what might be wrong with my boy Richard. We adopted him in April 2006 at the age of 2 with no known past injuries or illness. A few months later he developed what appeared to be back pain , yelping when he got up or laid down. Vet could find no obvious course and it cleared up very quickly. Several months later he was running and playing with his collie friend and about 15 mins after he yelped and began to limp then he suddenly collaspsed and was completely paralysed and we lifted him into the car and rushed to the vets. Vet suspected f.c.e. and he was given steriods and metacam and x-rays showed nothing, this time recovery was slower but with rest and medication he recovered with just a slight weakness in his back leg. Eventually he was given the all clear by the vet and his dose of metacam was reduced and we were told it was just a one off we were unlucky and he could resume normal activities. Earlir this year it happened again but this time by the time we got to the vets he was also having seizures and we did not think he would make it through the night. Spent a sleepless night in tears only to be rung by the vet the next morning asking if we could collect him as he was kicking up a storm and would be better off at home were he could be kept quiet and rest. Again he regained his mobility and has now been refered to a specialist who has taken blood and feacal samples which have been sent to America for full analysis,he wants to rule out clotting disorders, parasites and wobblers syndrome. Next step will be mri scan and spinal fluid sample. He is on very restricted exercise and we live in fear it might happen again. Sorry for this long rambling post , i am fairly new to grey talk and i thank you for your patience in reading it.

I will ask at next appointment, in between these episodes he looks the picture of health, no pain or mobility problems, its hard to believe he was so ill.
