  1. Welcome from the UK. Loved the pics and thought the dog door was was really cute. He's a very quick learner, unlike my Frisby who's not!!
  2. Welcome to you and your beautiful pack from UK. My thoughts today are with Allistair. Hoping everything goes well.
  3. What a beautiful tribute to an obviously much loved boy. So sorry for your loss.
  4. Hi Claire. Welcome from another UKer. I'm from Bedfordshire and have a white dog with a red carpet and you're right about the hairs. Frisby is an I'm Slippy dog too, but a few generations closer as he's nearly nine. Weston has such a big beach for them to run on. I know Frisby would love it. You'll like it here on GT. 5. Welcome from England. That last picture.
  6. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your brave and handsome boy. He was way too young.
  7. I am so, so sorry. I had been hoping and praying for a good outcome, not this.
  8. Thanks for your replies. It's good to know there are others out there in a similar position who have coped well. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it won't need amputation.
  9. Beau looks amazing. A totally different dog. Well done.
  10. About three years ago Frisby had a front toe removed as there was a tumor in the bone. Now the next toe is swollen and sore. He has been on steroids and anti inflammatories for a week and the pain seems to have gone but the toe is still swollen. He has to go in for an xray on Thursday. It can be one of three things. Either a broken bone that has healed badly or a deep rooted infection or another tumor. If (and I pray it's not) it's a tumor he will have to have the toe removed. I know there are many greys here that have had a toe removed, but are there any that have had two adjacent toes removed and if so, do they manage ok? He would be left with just the two outside toes and I don't know if he will be able to walk properly. He is nearly nine, but he still loves his zoomies. I just hope it's nothing bad and it's something he can live with.
  11. Hello and welcome from Bedfordshire, but a frequent visitor to Hampshire (Basingstoke actually). This is Frisby and he's an I'm Slippy great grandson too. http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?d=Senahel+...&birthland=
  12. What a lovely tribute to your wonderful girl and the words of the song say it all.
  13. Welcome to you and your beautiful girls. Your Scarlett is the same age as my Frisby, but I'm sure he had an easier life racing in England. I'm so glad you managed to adopt them from Spain.
  14. I'm so sorry. My deepest sympathy to you and kisses for Andy who will miss his sister.
  15. My mum passed away on Saturday and I am missing her so much and can't stop crying and thinking about her. She would have been 80 in August. At least I was able to tell her I loved her before she went.
  16. Welcome to GT. What a handsome boy. I love the pictures, especially 'waiting for santa'. Hope to see many more pictures
  17. I'm so glad she's home and pray for a quick and full recovery
  18. Another beyond-adorable Sid & Chancy shot... Melted my heart every time they cuddled. What a lovely tribute to a beautiful girl. This picture is so adorable and shows Chancy's gentle character more than words ever could. God speed sweet Chancy
  19. Some council workmen came up to my sister while she was sitting with Lennies little body and said "Oh another one. That's always happening". Most cliff edges around England have warning signs or fences, but as this ia a beauty spot, apparently they don't want to spoil it.
  20. He was a two year old lurcher, but my Frisby's best pal. They loved to run together and shared everything whenever they got together. He was my sister's dog and she took him to the Dorset coast yesterday for the weekend and after a four hour car journey took him for a nice long walk. He was a lively, but well behaved dog and was walking along just behind her when he disappeared into some bushes. When she called he didn't come and she went to look in the bush, but it wasn't just a bush, it was hiding a cliff edge. Lennie had gone over the side and fallen a hundred feet to the bottom, breaking his neck. My poor dear sister is inconsolable as he was the child she had never had. He was a lovely boy and will be sadly missed. Rest in peace Lennie. Me with Lennie & Frisby
