Switching to iPad: clicked Sign In, entered user name and password.
"use saved password", Yes I generally leave it on that, able to now proceed without a captcha.

Interesting since I did not make any changes. I hate to say it, but I suspect you clicked sign up and not sign in, because the sign up button is much more obvious.

Jeff, Ducky asked me to chime in here with my captcha experience on GT, since mine was different from hers.

Very odd indeed. The only time anyone should see a captcha when posting is if you are not logged in, and that was only an option here in the tech forum, but after the last round of spammers, I disabled guest (not logged in )posting completely. I have no clue why you would have seen a captcha while posting unfortunately.

  2. interesting, I've never seen that during a login, just when signing up (creating a new account) and I just logged out and back in and didn't get a captcha.

I have noticed that most captcha's I come across these days on other sites ... the ones that you need to click everything with a bike, stairs, stoplight, etc.... they all fail for me, I always have to click the sound option and type in what I hear, clicking always fails. Seems ad blockers can cause that, and I'm pretty locked down.

The one you see here is matching a puzzle piece isn't it? Or do you see the one I mentioned above where you need to click all the xx boxes?

Regardless, you shouldn't be seeing that on a login, just during a new registration.

-How could I download pictures in this forum? Any way to make them smaller?

    Upload not download.
Upload to, (or link to in this case) not download from.

    • go to https://imgur.com/
    • Click NEW POST, green button upper left (I am using a laptop, not a phone)
    • Open your file manager, select your image, click, drag and drop to where it says DROP IMAGES HERE

Your image should show on that page when it is done uploading, now we need to get it here ...

    • Right click on the image on that webpage, and select copy image address.
    • Then, just paste it here, it needs to end in .jpg, my example looks like this:

    https://i.imgur.com/GR2QD8e.jpg

    and this is the result

  4. Anyone use these on their dogs?

I've had them used on me, but only while numb,  I guess they sting quite a bit.

Are they dog safe, any experience with them?

P got the tip of her ear split, and after A did that last time, it took 2 weeks to heal, and a gallon on paint to cover what looked like a murder scene every time she shook her head. We have a black light, and you can even see it through the paint :lol

  5. here because the post got reported.

The device is FDA Cleared, NOT FDA Approved, massive difference. It is not a regulated medical device. Clearance is a step to approval though.

    Quote

A device that is truly “cleared” may not have FDA’s affirmative blessing, but it has certainly passed a basic level of scrutiny and the door is now open to market.

But many devices, especially health and wellness or even 510(k) exempt devices, erroneously claim that they are FDA “cleared.” Think about it. If the device never required a 510(k) clearance in the first place, the words “FDA cleared” are meaningless.

I'm an electronic tech by trade, I'd open it up to solder in a new battery without thinking twice about it.

  6. supporters have a higher max file size, but it isn't huge, Most people these days link to files stored elsewhere

    here for example https://imgur.com/upload

As an example, I uploaded this pic to the link above. Copy the link, open the new page, then right click the image and get the actual image URL then post that in the post box here, it will be automatically converted to show the image

the URL should look something like this, you want it to end in .jpeg or another image format

    https://i.imgur.com/r4tjU7c.jpeg

  7. We use Enom as our domain registrar and domain name service (DNS) (The people who link the name Greytalk.com to the internet) and they have been having serious issues with an upgrade they did to their service, and that has affected us., we were not notified prior to the upgrade. You can read about the status here: https://enomstatus.com/

GT users "should" be able to access the site by visiting https://forum.greytalk.com/  and  www.greytalk.com also appears to work, note the preceding WWW  (tell your friends!) however just plain ol' greytalk.com without the www is not working (and in fact currently redirects to a Scottish Parliament site :lol ), this outage also affects our email services, so if you sent me something, there is a good chance I have not received it yet.

    Sorry for the inconvenience
